Just a quick question… on point six the wording is ‘despite the new health care law’… umm was the new health care law supposed to decrease ‘public debt’?
ok just read the article… (normally I read then respond but i guess everyone is susceptible to those danged politically/emotionally charged new stories)
quote: ’That was the news from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, which for the first time took into consideration the new health care law, heralded by President Obama and Democrats for reducing deficits in the long run.
The report doesn’t contradict that. It simply points out that any long-term savings from the health care law, such as from Medicare savings, aren’t enough to turn deficits around.’
does anyone seriously think that the new health care law will stay within its project budget? and can someone please give me a real example of a ‘government/entitlement’ (sorry to use the terms, I hate them, but we only have language) which has not grown?
I do really want to know.
$700 BILLION bailed out politician’s banks/wall street, and billions to cover the Bush/Chaney oil war. Congress concerned now?!
SHAME, SHAME, SHAME to Republicans and those few Democrats who blocked several U.I. Ext. bills from passing they turned their backs on THE PEOPLE again.
Most of these same House Representatives and Senators united to pass bills that gave their Wall Street/Banks SEVERAL billion $$$s in bailouts in 2008, starting with JP MORGAN CHASE, one of the many banks that took advantage of consumers.
Then their oil companies made billions in profit during the summer of 2008, as they strategically increased gas prices by $1-$2 on Americans at the pump. Americans had to pay for gas to get to work. Soon American’s household budgets were out of balance, and started foreclosing on home loans.
Your companies stayed fat$$ at the top by cutting jobs, while leaving The People jobless, without Unemployment Insurance, struggling and sadly disillusioned.

Look at the websites for various senators, specifically Lindsey Graham. Look at the # of offices they maintain at the People’s expense. Perhaps they should get their own greedy houses in order before they deny extended unemployment benefits to those of us who would much rather have a job than to be on unemployment. I was a Republican up until a week ago, but now I see that the Tea Party is the only party. Lindsey Graham is was blowing hot hair demeaning the power of the Tea Party. Remember, these Senators and Representatives are hired by the People. They ALL knew what was going on with mortgage lending back in 2008 and let it happen to the People. They clearly failed at their jobs and deserve to be fired just as any other employee who did such damage. It is time to clean house in Congress and get people in that are of the People, by the People and definitely for the People.
Ok! Now not later is the time to organize ourselves to throw these inept politians out of office. This will take time so we need to start now and when the time comes in November we can fight with numbers. We matter people, look at the thousands of our family members who have died for our country, this is our country and those who have died defending its people and democracy deserve the respect of our government to do the right thing, this is America so wake up people and throw these selfish men and woman out of office and let them become normal citizens who have to be held accountable for their actions like the rest of America.
Why don’t our Republican Senators get that there is a great need?
The job market is broken.
The corporate executives are not going to give up their year-end profit bonus by adding jobs/payroll to their companies.

Hmm, we all seem to think that all politicians are bad, ill-prepared, etc. That is not true. For the most part, they start their jobs with all good intentions. Then they realize that it isn’t about making law, it’s about keeping money flowing to special interests, their parties and their own campaigns. So votes simply go where the money goes and it’s divided by party. So half the lobbyists spend money on Dems and the other half on Reps and alls well. The ones to watch are those that break ranks with their party. They are either incredibly naive or inexperienced, or totally corrupt and taking money from the otherside. In every case throughout history, the party not in power’s agenda was/is to make the party in power exit as quickly as possible. Having a minority president just makes the polarization seem more intense, but the battles are the same. Just think, lobbyists spend about $1 million per congressman. That doesn’t include the corporate PAC money, etc. that also flows freely.
Great insight and facts.

Obama needs to spend ALL of his time on the economy and jobs!! He should anything possible to get the unemployment extension bill signed into law before this weekend and leave other issues alone for now. UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS DESERVE BETTER THAN WHAT THEY ARE GETTING FROM CONGRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I say that while they’re on vacation, we have work to do. ATTACK WITH FAXES. They ignore all out-of-state emails, but it’s hard to ignore thousands of pages of faxes. These are DC fax#‘s. JOHN MCCAIN 202-228-2862, remind him how much he “loved” Joe the Plumber (average American guy) and how quickly he’s forgotten. Tell him your own story, how his lack of caring has impacted your life. BEN NELSON (lone hold-out Dem) 202-228-0012, what a disgrace he is to Dem party and to the American people. You could do the same with their state offices, but I think we start with their DC offices.
The Senate needs to be held accountable for their incompetence and lack of integrity. Shame on them for not coming up with a 100% solution for all Americans who are forced to survive on their UI.
President Obama can’t sign a bill, if Congress doesn’t get it to him. President Obama’s discussed the economy, and the need to help the displaced unemployed with UI Extentions on Monday and Tuesday. CSPAN.ORG
As of today, we have 9.9% unemployed, 55% of the workforce have taken reduced work hours, pay-cuts, unpaid leave, forced to switch to part-time, and BP Oil Corporation’s IRRESPONSIBLENESS is adding to LOST JOBS and LOST LIVES.
1.2 million who will lose their Unemployment Insurance if Republicans get their way.
The GOP have no vested interest in hearing or helping jobless people. The only communication Republicans hear is $$$$$. That’s why they listen to and only support Oil Companies, Insurance Companies, BANKS, FED RESERVE, Big Corporations, and Wall Street. www.change.org
Great reporting on YouTube.

This news reporting, the debates on CSPAN, and OpenCongress.com help give the public a close-up look at our cRepresentives job incompetence.
Congress should draft up a “Fairness To Jobless Citizen’s Act”, that would remove incompetent Senators and be required to replace them with an unemployed American that will appreciate the job opportunity, work hard and will be effective for The People.
CNN has actually screened and blocked several comments/blogs that expose the truth about the Republican Senators in regards to the UI Ext bills.
Here are some stories written with very accurate reporting of the UI Ext Crisis.

Senator’s excuse for not passing is a false statement.
Read all about it:
The funding argument is even harder to swallow. I’d be more sympathetic with these new converts to fiscal responsibility if they were as enthusiastic about paying for extending $32 billion worth of special interest tax breaks as they are about funding the unemployment extension. If I understand correctly, these lawmakers insist that Congress fund every dime of added jobless aid, which nearly all analysts agree will help boost the economy. But they feel no need to pay for continuing these special interest tax breaks, which will not.

GOP are determined to bloc everything the President is trying to do for the USA right now. He has a vested interest, and seems to take pride in doing the best job he can while in office.
We are in trouble as long as Republican politicians continue favoring their special interest.
How can any CEO or Owner of business get anything done if half of his managers or executives stand in his way just to be defiant.
President Obama speech on CSPAN today, while in Kansas City, MO to support a future candidate. Was right on.
If you are an unemployed American, and are thinking no one understands the difficulties of being jobless. Obama speech articulated the financial and emotional struggles well. Hat’s off to the President for saying what needed to be said.

Republicans filibustered UI Ext bill! They’re asking for UI Ext be paid, while at the same time they’re fighting to give their Special Interest groups special tax stimulus. Rep are trying to look like they care about the deficit, but for 10 yrs (Bush Admin) they never spoke of concerns for the huge deficit they were digging us into as they approved large spending for Special Interest. The Rep debate on these UI Ext bills are like “broken record”. They want USA to use the stimulus money that is already committed to the agreed upon projects, programs, etc. Republicans want USA to “rob Peter to pay Paul”, so they can try to prolong the problem past November election. This is how they have operated for YEARS, and we’re in worse shape now because of their IRRESPONSIBLENESS. People should not be in Leadership positions if they cant make decision for the problems at hand.
Dont take my word for it. Please read links Donny Shaw and others have provided with accurate research and reporting.
Governer Machin like most Americans. He wants to preserve the job he has(Politician), and advance his career. He is probably making decisions by listening to political power and money. Does anyone really think he or any of the SENATORS who have stood in the way of passing Unemployment Insurance Extension to the millions who need it, are losing any sleep?
The worse SENATORS are the ones who are probably lining their pockets big time right now by being the one vote that completely blocks UI Bills from passing. That would probably be Senators like Ben Nelson and Jim Bunning on the obvious ungly corrupt Senator list.
The millions of ordinary Americans that have been forced into unemployment lines may not have very much money, or even empathy from other fellow employed Americans at this point, but you have the power of your vote in November. Take names, and make sure you make it to that appointment.
FreedomWorks(Tea Party) has big money donations. Oil&Gas Industry Special Interest group contribute 80%+ to Republicans. Koch Industry lead in contributions. Senators will be listen to them, not the cries of the average Americans. Here are donation recorded. The unemployed dont have Lobbyist and Special Interest groups. This is how it appears for Democrats and millions of average Americans. NO MONEY, NO VOICE, NO CRUMS.
