Majority of Americans for Impeachment

July 6, 2007 - by Donny Shaw

H.Res.333, Dennis Kucinich’s [pictured at right] bill to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney, has been extremely popular on OpenCongress. It became the most-viewed bill in April and has held that position ever since with 10,332 all-time views currently. Now, new polling results are confirming that it’s popular with the general public as well.

The question was:

>Do you favor or oppose the US House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against Vice President Dick Cheney?

Fifty-four percent of U.S. adults answered that they would favor beginning the impeachment process, 40 percent answered that they oppose impeachment, and 6 percent said they are undecided. Support for impeachment among registered voters is a little lower, but 50 percent still answered that they favor impeaching Cheney.

For more on the impeachment bill, check out all of the blog and news coverage rolling in on the OpenCongress page. For example, this article from Scoop which is listed as the most recent news article, predicts that when Congress comes back from recess on Monday, the official list of co-sponsors will go from 10 to 14. Keep checking back to see if today’s new poll results help attract even more sponsors.

Heck NO! What is wrong with you people? I’m so sick of this political crap! Whenever the opposing party is in office the other party is pissed and looks for every little thing possible to accuse the party in power of wrong doing. It is called SOUR GRAPES. Mrs. Clinton called it a “Right Wing Conspiracy” when her husband was in office. It has happened throughout history if people would actually open their minds a little and think.

Face it. Politics is an ugly affair and it isn’t pretty and sometimes untasteful things have to be dealt with that really it would be better that the citizen’s didn’t know about because most would not understand. Alot of our citizens are somewhat naive and want to live in a world called “disney land” and unfortunately that world does not exist.

Support your troops and loved ones overseas and quit bashing the people in uniform who are just doing a job! Remember, without all the sacrifices many gave for our freedoms we have today, we would not be able to voice our opinions or possibly speak english, worship the religions we wish to worship or even dress the way we want to dress. Things we take for granted, may not even be an option. Education, choice, free will. Think about it. Yes, we Americans are pretty spoiled and we really have no clue as to how bad it could be but if we don’t get it together and quit this in-fighting it’s just going to get worse.

We have checks and balances and more than a single branch of government because the Founders knew that some people are liars. Some leaders work for corporations such as Haliburton, and do not understand their responsibility to a public that might belong to any or no party, but expects to be brought to war by facts and persuasive arguments, but not lied into war or propagandized into war.
