From Dismal to Mediocre in Just Two Months

So far this session, Congress has passed and seen signed into law new workplace discrimination protections for women, expanded healthcare for children, an economic stimulus package, and people approve:

Gallup reports that Congress’s 39 percent approval rating is the highest since February 2005.

Since January, approval of Congress among self-identified Democrats has risen from 17 percent to 57 percent. Over the same time period, approval among Independents has increased from 17 percent to 34 percent, and Republicans’ approval has moved down one percentage point from 23 to 22.
