Back when the bill was called HR 2702 Tiahrt voted against it. If Tiahrt believes what he says, that we should support veterans with educational benefits, then why did he vote against such benefits and later support them? It's obvious. ...

I'LL BET THESE SENATORS AND LEGISTATORS IN TEXAS DO NOT HAVE ANYONE SERVING IN THE MILITARY, OR THEY WOULD SUPPORT BILL # H.R. 2702. If the president is worrying about recruiting let him open a Draft if he thinks this new G.I. Bill will hurt Recruiting. GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL. ( Prior Service member, Thank You
To be fair, there are better bills out there right now including H.R.2642 that provide even better benefits for post-9/11 service-members. This one in particular was sponsored by Rep. Thomas Edwards (D-TX) so be careful what you say about Texan legislators! (current service-member in Afghanistan)
