Protecting the Medicaid Safety Net Act of 2008

To extend certain moratoria and impose additional moratoria on certain Medicaid regulations through April 1, 2009, and for other purposes.

OpenCongress Summary:
This bill would effectively delay for one year the implementation of new Administration-proposed regulations that would reduce Medicaid payments for several Medicaid-related activities. It is estimated that the proposed regulations would save the federal government $15 billion over five years, but that states would suffer $50 billion in damages for making up the difference.
