(This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary has been expanded because action occurred on the measure.)
Faster FOIA Act of 2005 - Establishes a 16-member Commission on Freedom of Information Act Processing Delays to conduct a study concerning methods to:
(1) reduce delays in processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests submitted to Federal agencies; and
(2) ensure the efficient and equitable administration of FOIA throughout the Government. Requires the study to also address whether FOIA fees and fee waivers need to be reformed.
Requires the Commission to submit study results and recommendations to Congress and the President within one year.
Directs the heads of executive agencies, the Government Accountability Office, and the Congressional Research Service to provide the Commission with information needed by the Commission to carry out its functions.
States that the Commission shall terminate 30 days after submitting its report.
