This bill will not stop smoking or restrict an adult from buying cigarettes, but it seems like it will try to prevent the pushing of cigarettes on children.

Congress and the US government aren’t doing enough to regulate tobacco products and are not placing label warings that are large and have the abililty to sway one to stop smoking. I was more dissappointed when they didn’t follow up with the international tobacco treaty. According to many websites, there were many states that recieved a F for not having enough great state regulations. The federal governemnt also recieved Fs and a D -for failing to ratify the international treaty. I believe more should be done and that graphic images should be displayed on cigareete warings along with their warings so they can have more power on a person and can make the person acknowledge the effects of smoking

It’s really NOT the government’s job to help you decide anything. If you’re too stupid to not know that tobacco products of all types are harmful and not to mention disgusting habits, then you should at least contribute to government coffers by paying large amounts of tax money when you purchase the above described tobacco products.

With all the ads and all the other information readily available to everyone on TV, Radio, the Internet as well as the warnings that are printed on the product labels I find it extraordinary that one cannot determine continued tobacco use is harmful to one’s health. Moreover, that we need more government to help us in the endeavor, just boggles my mind.

Prohibition is proven to not work. Just take a look back in history. I’m all for not letting children smoke, but come on.

Get real, either you outlaw this tobacco crap or you don’t. More government is not the answer.

If these politicians were really serious they would legalize all drugs and the tax the crap out of them. Think of the revenue that could be generated by the stupid. Just like the lottery.

Anti Smoking supporters sure don’t know what the story is. That’s too bad. You do realize that the Fed gives money to anti smoking campaigns right? Did you know that the new SCHIPS Bill which was passed is dependent on Tobacco Tax revenue for funding? So, if government bans smoking or it declines and you support that, you are obviously against children having health insurance. What a bunch of child haters. You guys are sick and should be ashamed of yourselves.

Without the tax contributions from cigarette sales, where are we going to get money for health care, medicare…? Tobacco Tax is one of the largest tax contributions to our government. Plus, there will be alot more people living longer. Tobacco is a form of population control, one we may need to continue the human existence.
