I am praying that this bill is passed and I am asking everyone who reads this to agree. My brother, who got mixed up with the wrong crowd, was arrested in 2003 and is serving a 10 year sentence. He has turned his life over to God and his heart desires to do right. His family and society would benefit from this.
Eileen - Lakeland, FL
I am also praying that this bill gets passed. I have a friend in prison convicted of conspiracy serving 3 years. He is a non-violent man and does not deserve to be in prison for this crime. He is very much missed by family and friends. Martha - New Jersey
The federal system seems to ignore the real issue of repeat offenders. It is absurd to lock up first time offenders (non violent). The money spent on incarcerating these individuals could be better spent elsewhere, especially during tough economic times. See this for what it is. The Government has gotten too big and cannot operate in a rational manner. The only people that get breaks are the political class, Democrat or Republican.
