    Sounds like a way to make sure that measurement system usage in government-funded research is at least decided upon before the research is completed, and that the plan is carried out accurately. Presumably this law would create additional pressure for American organizations to use the metric system rather than the old Imperial system.

Presumably this law would create additional pressure for American organizations to use the metric system rather than the old Imperial system, though that point doesn’t seem abundantly clear, at least from the bill summary.

    As more information about the metric system becomes available available it will become more likely that we will move over the (more sane) metric system..
