Ooops, my bad. Rats 101, right?
I’m just being silly.
I dispise Dubya so much. We are in for 20 years of good luck after the most miserable years in recent history!
Really….I feel it!
Things are going to get better. I feel that too.
The GI Bill/UE extension will pass next week. It’s in the bag
Let’s hope-I wont be happy until its official!!!
We won when things looked a lot worse than they do now. I think it is in the bag.
Congressional Calendar for Monday, June 2, 2008
U.S. House:
Not In Session
tHIS COULD BE GOOD OR BAD? Hopefully when do tthey do come back? they’ll have there brains working from the long break & get the bill passed quickly
Oh come on, you read that post but not the one after it.
There are alot of brilliant folks working in many different areas, like alternative energy, that will turn our country around. It’s going to be an amazing time, thrilling times, after all the despair we have been through. Perhaps, we had to go through this hell to appreciate how great life will be again?
TYPO-WHEN THEY DO

GOOD POST!!
They convene again June 3rd.
Thanks. Sorry for the double-post.
Sweet dreams. Good times will be here again!
It seems that most people I know, including myself, are going through big life changes. A lot of my friends are questioning their relationships, careers, and living conditions. I’m also going through a period of soul-searching. The question most of us are asking is: What’s next?
This question comes from a desire to control and predict the future. Yet, there is no true future; there’s only NOW in which we’re guided and escorted perfectly by the angels. The choices and actions of NOW are creating our future.
Instead of fighting with our thoughts and feelings, how about listening to them? What are your recurrent feelings? What changes do you dream about making? What do you love about your life, and what do you feel complete with?
Goodnight all.
Say what you want, sure the bill will probably pass but Bush will veto it for sure. He does what he says and he will veto it, you can bet on it. Not enough votes to override. Remember this guy never pardoned anybody when he was governor of Texas. He despises working people and despises unemployed people even more. You can forget about the extension. It has a snowballs chance in hell. Oh well.
You are partially correct. Bush WILL veto the bill approving benefits for new war veterans and UE.(They are connected.) The hope we must sustain is what we saw in the Senate two weeks ago when the Senate passed this legislation by an overwhelming majority. My hope is that the week in which the Reps went home will turn the tide.
Again, let the lesson be learned. Both Bush and McCain are on record to disapprove both the new GI Bill as well as the UE.
The president argues that the U.S. must show its support for Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, who is working to transform his country from a near-failed state to a stable democracy with a growing economy and has been a partner with the United States in fighting drugs and terrorism.
TO THE ABOVE… I THINK THE PRESIDENT SHOULD LOOK IN HIS OWN BACK YARD….
go to Iowa there are jobs, quit sitting here on you lazy asses waiting for your glorified welfare check extension.
Quit blaming the president for not handing you more money, You should go where the jobs and and they have plenty in Iowa.
Des Moines Iowa is begging for workers , get out of here…Maybe they won’t do drug testing ya lossers..
Please quite critizing those of us who can’t move to Iowa for a job. I have a 85 year old mother and a 93 year old Mother in Law who need my husband I for their care (no other siblings to help out). So, before you pass judgement, you need to think it through. Sometimes it’s not only about you but others.
You are here because you are unemployed , just thought you might want to get another job.
I received this email this morning. The pressure is ON to pass the GI Bill, therefore ours!
Within a week-and-a-half of launching, The Real McCain 2 received over 1.4 million views. This colossal number only happened because you took action, guaranteeing that people see the truth about McCain at a time when the corporate media refuses to cover that story.
Also last week, our collaborative effort with Vote Vets to pass the GI Bill had tremendous success. About a month ago, we filmed, edited, and distributed a video of vets talking about their urgent need for a new GI Bill. In doing so, we made it clear McCain has been hypocritical about his patriotism by refusing to support this bi-partisan legislation. Thousands of views and petition signatures later, the real GI Bill (not McCain’s water-down alternative) passed the Senate in an overwhelming majority, 75-22.
And speaking of McCain, the video we created with Mother Jones that exposed McCain’s pastor problem, Rev. Rod Parsley, also caused quite a stir last week. Thanks to your efforts, support for the film crescendoed throughout the Internet until the corporate media acknowledged McCain’s bigoted association and McCain was compelled to reject the pastor’s endorsement!
Our videos just reached a commanding 20 million views this past weekend. Clearly, we’re becoming a major progressive voice capable of effecting change. But we need you help to continue our progressive campaigns. Please donate today!

refuse Bush will veto the G.i amendment as it stands now ,it will then be sent back to congress for revisions and change . The democrats will cave in on extended U.I figuring that they fought a good fight ,which should pay off in votes in November .The repubs and Bush are happy too, as they got the democrats to cave in on something they don`t support .These politicians can not and will not refuse better education benefits for the g.i`s ,we all agree they deserve that and more .As for us it will be back to voting out all of the obstructionists repubs out in November .We always get screwed in the end .
GOD BLESS THE 101st AIRBORNE REG. IN IRAQ!!!
WE HAVE A FEW REPUBLICANS IN THE PLATOON OVER HERE:

why isn’t our government officals back? Their asses should be in session tomorrow, they are useless. 2/3 of them should be voted out of office anyway.
Good previous posts CS, thanks. It is possible the House will vote with a veto-proof majority. Bush’s approval ratings are lower than Nixon’s were. McClellan’s book is still exploding over the internet and McCain continues to distance himself from Bush. It could be the original House vote lacking defense funds was a ploy to bring the war bill back to the House. At any rate, if Republicans are supposedly defecting in the Senate, they might do so in the House as well. Webb has great favor with his GI Bill and is possibly looking at a VP position. In my opinion everything looks more positive for us now than any other day of our wait.
I agree with stubnews assessment. I think most repubs (even in the great lone star state) will vote for the GI Bill which (hopefully) will carry us. Sam Johnson voted against – don’t think even he can refuse the VETS. The Aussies are pulling out of the war this month having done their job as US allies! Mr. Johnson’s ears should be burning!
UE, North Texas
These politicians are going to stick it to us ,without a doubt .It`s all about oneupmanship and infighting if you believe that pricks like Bohner ,Lewis ,Weller and the rest of these bums don`t have something up their sleeve -you are sadly mistaken .I hope that i am wrong but my gut says no .
UE have you ever thought of maybe going down deeper in the state for work? I hear Austin has jobs and besides it’s alot nicer farther south, can’t stand nort Tx.
