Thank you for the posting from “Steppin” – I’m not understanding any of that stuff… Can you translate? I just need to know if NJ, which had a 5.9% unemployment rate for Aug. will get another extension. To the other guy who keeps writing about B.S. “work from home jobs” – save your energy – we all know about those scams and we’re not interested.

What’s the deal with all of these SEPARATE bills for extending benefits? Our responses are DILUTED on the different bills. When they look for the number of comments, it looks like not many but when they add together the comments for all the UE extension bills introduced, they’d have to RESPOND to us!!!!
2544 which gives us a $50 increase and was the first bill introduced by Kennedy should be the one that we push for!!!!!

Companies around the US continue to downsize and cut jobs.

At the same time the House and Congress are looking to spend $700 billion on a bailout plan for The Greedy Wallstreet Executives debacle.

The burden to repay the $700 Billion so called “Bailout” will rests on the shoulder’s of Mainstreet Americans who during this terrible economy may or may not even have a job.

The $700 billion equates to over $5,000+ owed by every man, woman, and child in the United States.

There are so many more important issues we could be using this money for to better the world we live in.

Additionally, there is absolutely no guarentee in anyone’s mind that this $700 Billion used for the “Bailout” will even solve the problem!

Just another cluster @#%^ incident that Bushy Boy and his Republican Cronies continue to perpetuate "Working Harder, Not Smarter and screwing over the middle class!

And where has Bush been over the past week…

Bush needs to show some balls and act like a leader instead of hiding behind closed doors in the White House!

Bush needs to appologize to the American People for this debacle on National TV and address the concerns and problems he and the Republican Jack @!%’s caused with their so called

“Wild,Wild,West Trickle Down Economic Plan of Disaster!!!”

    Thanks for nothing Bushy Boy…

By the time it’s all over we just may consider you a terrorist!!!!

Bail Out ,, just lower gas prices to $1.95 a gal and that would help everyone!!!!! Then things would start going good again . people would have more money to spend and their would be more jobs……….

    This is just sad

“Many lower ranking democrats were very up set that democratic leaders (Pelosi and Reed) would not allow for an extension of unemployment benefits, that is urgently needed in many of their home districts, to be added to the CR. The CR passed with a veto proof margin.”

US Rep Rangel Proposes 7-Week Extension Of Jobless Benefits9-11-08 1:15 PM EDT
WASHINGTON U.S. House Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel on Thursday proposed seven more weeks of unemployment benefits for people who have exhausted their current benefits and more for those in high-unemployment areas.

Rangel, D-N.Y., and Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., introduced legislation that includes a seven-week extension of unemployment insurance for those receiving benefits in all areas of the country, and a 13-week extension for workers in states with an unemployment rate of 6% or more.
House Democrats have signaled that an unemployment extension is high on their agenda for this year.
But if Congress doesn’t approve a second stimulus, Rangel’s standalone bill would provide Democrats an opportunity to have another vote on extending unemployment benefits.
    President George W. Bush on June 30 signed a 13-week unemployment-benefits extension

Pelosi is RIDICULOUS – she had the option to help us BEFORE the bailout and did NOT. She squeezed in our bill right when the Senate would not vote on it.
She is playing the blame game and WE’RE the PAWNS.
Make her accountable. She threw us aside in the first stimulus and she’s creating nearly a MILLION mortgages to be foreclosed by not extending our benefits.
