This bill manufactures wilderness so that Boxer and McKeon can leave a legacy. Although it is being touted in Washington as a "noncontroversial compromise", that is a lie I can't believe Ms. Boxer tells with a straight face - especially since she's never step foot in any of these areas she's describing to her colleagues as the epitome of wilderness. These areas have roads running right through them - untrammelled by man? These areas abut housing - untrammelled by man? Wow, have they warped the '64 act!
