    Its about time that Congress does something about this. The SEC secretly almost overnight does away with the uptick rule and NOTHING has been done for over a year about it. All while the economy is in shambles, housing market is tumbling and NO END in sight. Also, the BIG firms continue to manipulate the stock market and make more money each day while the average schmuck loses his life savings yet again! Hello Enron, Global Crossing, et al!!! PASS THIS BILL and stop wasting time on Roger Clemens and steriods in baseball… Who cares!! Lets fix the stock market and put some confidence back into the markets

    SEC’s response was that a study was done during 2004-2006, and it was concluded that the rule was ineffective. What they didn’t say was that the stduy was done during a good bull market. By the way, who could have started the campaign to remove the rule in the first place.. I can only guess it’s from the hedge fund industry which specializes in shorting.
