I am in NC. I have been looking for a job for over a year. In that time I have applied for over 400 positions! I have modified my resume 3x! I have reached a point where I would take anything, but I am over qualified. I want to work. I worked an average of 65 hrs a week on my last job and enjoyed it until I was laid off. I am so sick and tired of people saying extending unemployment only makes people not want to work! The only idiots that say that are the ones who work for the government and make over 120,000 a year or are millionaires. People should go to jail for what was done on wall street and in the banking sector! This country is so screwed up. A man can go to jail and get 5 plus years for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his children, but if you are a white collar worker and steal millions you get a slap on a wrist and an extra couple of million to walk away! What kind of #$%@ is that!

You are not in NC troll. People in NC are receiving a state mandated extension at this time. You should remember posting this as you did a few pages back. Along with the many, many fake garbage posts you’re guilty of, this one is idiotic.

If you’re going to type fake posts, at least get your dishonest facts correct and choose another state.

    Who’s the idiot?

    Same person who wrote this:

The Democrats are pathetic!!! To be worried if people had an extension then you might lose the election is beyond laughable. And guess what? We have no extension and still are not voting for them. Losers always have been and always will be. Now McCain has an economic message his poll #‘s will come back up. The American people have always just needed a reason to vote for him and not for Obama. Getting screwed on the extension this time and last summer just lost them the votes they were trying to secure. Way to go Harry and Nancy the entire country knows you can do nothing right which is why you will not be trusted with the majority or the White House. Send Obama’s fake ass back to Chicago. Let him go kiss the Daley’s asses some more and see what they can do for him there. He is DONE nationally.
    BLAH BLAH BLAH

    VOTE MCCAIN WOOHOO YEEHAH!!

“she isn’t sure what level of urgency congressional leaders are talking about.”

Its amazing me that when the rich people are in need of helps its urgent, like with the 700billion+ bail out for wall street but when the poor, the unemployed and the sick need help the white house fails to see the urgency.

    Disgusting

What’s amazing is Pelosi won’t call back Congress or Reid won’t call the Senate back BEFORE the elections. I would be confused too I mean this is an emergency that they failed to take care of before recessing and now act like it is important. Too late for that argument their actions already proved their motives and they deserve defeat in the elections for it.

  • Anonymous 10/14/2008 9:56am

What kind of #$%@ is that!

Bush’s way..and I thank the lord he going..make anyone the president I don’t care even Warren Sapp (if he can be a sack leader in the NFL and dance too he is good enough to be prez!

  • Anonymous 10/14/2008 9:57am

    AMEN BRO !

  • Anonymous 10/14/2008 9:59am

We live in a country that looks out for the rich..Period! Neither Republicans nor Democrats do whats going to be best for the average person! It’s all about politics and that is the very reason the country is collapsing around us. The ironic twist to it all is the folks that bamboozled individuals out of all of their money are going to suffer in the end with everyone else!

  • Anonymous 10/14/2008 10:00am

i agree Bush is not the holdup *

of course he not the holdup..he got his x-mas present $810 billion.

but he is indeed the cause of all this!

  • Anonymous 10/14/2008 10:04am

George Bush has already said he would support extended unemployment benefits

Who gives a shit what he says. It’s what he does that matters and he doesn’t do shit to help the unemployed. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to seriously consider getting their head examined. He said there were WMDs in Iraq. He said the bail out would help the economy. He says all kinds of shit.

Its easy for him to pretend that he is in support of something that because congress isn’t in session will never pass. Watch and see how his so called support for the unemployed disappears as the possibiliy of stimulus becomes real.

Open your eyes for god sake before its too late. Not for me or anyone else but for yourself

  • Anonymous 10/14/2008 10:08am

Bush has already said he would sign an unemployment extinsion, if you have been reading this thread more then 20 minutes you would know that. We do not have an extension because pelosi and reid would not allow for the extension to be added to the bailout or the CR, that is common knowledge at this point.*

I don’t have to read it here most here have slightest idea whats what.

You must be slow..because Bush did say he will approve the UE extension..but Bush also knows his party will shoot it down as aways..read real news not this place! LMAO

You must be slow yourself because Bush has never had any problem saying when he opposes extensions. I think the GOP is just shocked that the Democrats left people out of in the cold. They always say they oppose extensions then go along with them just like they thought would happen this time. Reid and Pelosi had other ideas and that’s why we have no extension now. Fact not fiction. And the infrastructure is what the Republicans oppose always has been.

    (TOP STORY)

During today’s press briefing, White House press secretary Dana Perino suggested the Bush administration would oppose any effort to extend jobless benefits — a stance the White House has taken before. She explained their position by saying, “we want people to be able to return to the workplace as soon as possible.” The suggestion was that extending benefits somehow prevents people from returning to work.

She concluded by saying that “the best way to help” the economy and unemployed people is for unemployed people to simply “get back to work.”

NOBAMA knew better than to appoint Hillary to VP b/c Hilary and Bill would have hired a sharp shooter to take out NOBAMA so she and Bill would be back in the Whitehouse….. that’s why !!

This article is saying that if Obama is elected they will give us a 13 week unemployment extension. They blocked us from receiving an extension so that they could use unemployment benefits as bait for votes, freaking jerks. SO in all reality if we see an extension at all it will not happen till January at the soonest.

They never had any intension to allow an unemployment extension to pass, they were talking out of both sides of their mouths so that they could use unemployment as an election issue. Is anyone else feeling kind of stupid for thinking that they were trying to get us extended unemployment benefits.
