What Bushy does not understand is that while on Unemployment you have to actively look for work, no freebees, here in NY, we have to make a weekly list of every job we applied for, and then we receive a letter to go to there office and present our list, they spot check the list and if you are caught lying they can suspend or deny benefits, nothing is free Bushy.

I can’t even watch any more of those videos. There is hundreds on tent cities on Youtube. Some of them are heartbreaking.

Every moron that says we don’t need an extension and should just get a job should be forced to live in one of those tent cities for a while.

Thanks because Katie was thinking…if this woman can be Vice President I should be Uber-President.

I think all these people (ie. republicans) were born with a silver spoon in their mouths and have never been hungry for more than an hour. They have no idea what it is like and they don’t want to know. There’s some old joke about how everyone is a democrat unless they have money, then they are a republican.

How many homeless veterans are there?

Although accurate numbers are impossible to come by — no one keeps national records on homeless veterans — the VA estimates that nearly 200,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. And nearly 400,000 experience homelessness over the course of a year. Conservatively, one out of every three homeless men who is sleeping in a doorway, alley or box in our cities and rural communities has put on a uniform and served this country.

ONE OUT OF EVERY THREE HOMELESS MEN ARE VETERANS!!!
Anyone beside me starting to get angry now?

Dow is dropping again. I think the more it drops the more it helps us. It’s down 140 now. I’m so glad that bailout plan worked, she said sarcastically.

Why don’t the republicans just give up already? They are going to lose. They are just trying to squeeze out the last drops of power they have and it is pathetic.

And excerpt from a letter from a senator. Read for yourself to see where Bush is spending money. See what his priorities are. While tent cities go up all over the U.S., this is what Bush and Republicans think is the right way to spend our tax dollars. Anyone concerned about a UE extension who votes for McCain should have their head examined.

Thank you for contacting me about the war in Iraq. I appreciate hearing from you on one of the most important issues facing our nation today.

I am deeply disappointed to report that on June 30, 2008, President Bush signed into law H.R.2642, an emergency supplemental appropriations bill to provide $161.8 billion in unrestricted funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I voted against funding the military operations portion of this measure because I strongly believe that we must break with an ill-advised strategy that continues to send our troops into the middle of a civil war that the Iraqi people and their leaders, not American troops, must resolve. America’s commitment in Iraq cannot be open-ended. That is why I will continue to support measures that limit the mission of U.S. troops in Iraq to protecting American personnel, training Iraqis, and conducting counterterrorism operations.

To ensure than any future commitments are congressionally authorized, I am also co-sponsoring S.2426, the Congressional Oversight of Iraq Agreements Act. This bill would make it explicitly clear that any executive bilateral agreement between the United States and Iraq that is not approved by Congress, as mandated in the Constitution, does not have the force of law. This important oversight measure has been referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations.

Why does Obama need 150 million a month to campaign , give some back to the needy or as he calls it the middle class, they are all loaded and out of touch with the misery of people right now.

  • Anonymous 10/21/2008 10:39am

If Washington can find funds to rescue banks, then Washington can fund an effective unemployment insurance scheme, and they can fund employment subsidies.
If Washington can take on the role of lender of last resort, then we should think about Washington taking on the role of employer of last resort.
WAKE UP WASHINGTON WE ARE GETTING FED UP WITH YOUR WAYS!!!!

I don’t know the exact details of that bailout bill but if they took the money they alloted for NASCAR, movies and wooden arrows for children, it would probably have covered the measly amount ($6 billion – or is it now up to $9 billion with all the new unemployed?) we are asking for. Dontcha think?

Call and Email David Moore. Tell him to remove the filter comments ability from posters. I emailed him and try to call a few times but only got voice mail.
