For those in Texas…the Federal goverment will pay the total cost of EB IF and only IF Texas agrees to the terms of the stimulus package. If they don’t, then I believe they use the old rules.
Just on the news – Perry turned down the 500m for Texas EB.
Here’s the full story. He is in Denial.

Has nothing to do with tier 2, but TWC chairman Pauken told Perry the unemployment fund could be insolvent later this year if he turned down the money. Not good news for many folks
You know, this Perry and Jindal could be relatives?
they both have that same mental gene thing going on.
Read this from March 2008 and you’ll see another smart Perry move concerning UI:

I am sorry what is the WBA. What do you mean the full amount? If he will probably get the max. in California which is $450 what do you think he will get then? How long will it take to get the full amount? Why does it not affect some people. Thanks alot, I really appreciate.

How does severance pay affect my eligibility to receive unemployment insurance benefits?
Severance pay is not deducted from unemployment insurance benefits and does not affect your eligibility to receive benefits. The method of payment, such as a lump sum payment or payments paid to you at regular pay period intervals does not change the nature of the payment. However, you must report severance pay at the time you file your unemployment insurance claim.

Thanks for the information. I am glad someone knows what they are talking about. Especially since you received it and are on unemployment.

Excuse me, but after reading through the BS today, I noticed your email from NELP. I couldn’t help but notice that there is no person called, “Mary Henderson” on the staff, nor the job of “UIMA Implementation Coordinator”.
Also the phone number you listed for her comes back to,
(207) 212-8805
Type: Cell PhoneLocation: Lewiston, ME.
I DO speak to Maurice on occasion, and I HOPE it is just a misunderstanding.

Here’s the header from the e-mail
I did say I HOPE it is a misunderstanding. I find it strange that Mary is not listed anywhere as on the staff of NELP, and the fact that a cell phone # was used is even stranger.

I think Geithner is on the right track. Governments cannot walk away … this is too serious. Yes, we will have to spend. Rather, our government will. If the Republicans were in power, they would step aside and watch us go into economic freefall, all while blaming someone else. They still believe in a Wild West style economy. You know, each man/woman for him/her self. The Obama/Geithner way is infinitely more civilized. They acknowledge our humanity, and are willing to face problems head on. Awesome. IMF? Here we come!
Hey "Texas’ I feel sorry for you folks!
you probably know by now your Governor hung you out to dry!
this is the paragraph excerted from the webs write-up on Obama’s talk today to the states on how to spent: On Thursday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry rejected $555 million in stimulus funds to expand state unemployment benefits. An outspoken critic of the stimulus, Perry accepted most of the roughly $17 billion slated for Texas.timulus money wisely
