The week of the 19th is our last week. Since they mail in sets of four, you will also get a form for the week ending Sep 26th. There is almost nothing available about the new bill. I have a feeling that we would not qualify.
By the way, I will be out of town this Saturday through the following Saturday Sep 12th and won’t have access to the Internet. I will check back here when I return.
Just an update….I just got my mail and nothing was in it. It’s only Tuesday so I won’t start to worry yet.
I have not received my forms yet. Todays mail hasn’t arrived so hopefully they are in there. Isn’t our last week to claim the week ending 19th?
Have you looked into the new bill yet? I think I will read up on it more tonight. I’ve been busy getting the kids ready to start school.
PAGirl, Duncan, and PA friends,
I received a packet of four mail claims today from UC.
The forms were for the weeks ending September 5th though the 26th.
How are you folks doing?
The new bill for extending unemployment benefits is HR 3404. It’s companion bill in the senate is s 1647. HR 3404 asks for a 13 week extension in states that are at 9% unemployment or higher,S 1647 asks for the same 13 weeks but lowers the state unemployment percentage to 8.5%
What’s the number for the new bill?
PA Here: I am a day behind you all. I noticed many are bailing to the new bill. I have for the most part but to check in on you all.
Hi DannyDog and Duncan,
I have the same as both of you! What a relief!! Duncan, I agree with everything you said…this board has been a wonderful resource.
Have a great weekend everyone….
Hi DannyDog!
I have the same update as you. Another week to breathe a heavy sigh of relief. I am grateful for this forum and the opportunity to communicate with other PA unemployed. There have been times when, had I not had this board to check in with, I would have been completely freaking out. So, for those who don’t understand why we update each other on here – oh, well! It’s a valuable resource, if you use it for things other than criticism and negativity, isn’t it?
PAGirl and PA friends,
I have a COB of Wednesday and a payment issue date of today.
How are you doing?

For Michigan unemployed.
Anon,
Post what you think is important and we will post what we think is important.
This bill was passed a long time ago. I’m sure that Open Congress would have shut this thread down a long time ago if they did not think that it served a useful public service. If you look way back to see the comments posted by Open Congress you will see that this is their position on posting.
What news do you have to offer?
Don’t you people in PA have anything better to do? For months now you keep posting you got your check or forms..opencongress is not for this!
Post news to help others who read these bills not your personnal updates.
Update … I have COB of Thursday and a check issue date of today. I’m expecting my FAC for the week ending 8/8 on Tuesday.
How great Duncan! You have two payment issue dates right in a row then, don’t you? I am glad that you did not have a delay this week!!!
PAGirl:
I have the same update as you!! Thank goodness.
Good morning DannyDog, Duncan and PA Friends,
I just wanted to let you all know that I have an update today. The website says COB 8/19/09 with a payment issue date of today, August 21st.
I hope you all do as well…
with everyones expeirence with EB is it better to fax or mail in our work logs?
That is wonderful Duncan! Thanks for updating us….
Now relax for a day or two and then we start looking for the this weeks update :)
That’s great news. Thanks for posting your update.
PA friends, I have an update from yesterday:
This morning, I show a COB of 8/17, and a payment issue date of 8/19, which means I should see some money tomorrow. Now I can breathe just a little easier.
for colorado people check your cap card, the day you complete your EB benefits application they release funds into your account, it took me three day to complete the ap because of the three hour time limit and it taking 5 hours for all of the pages to load (on my last attempt it only took 10 minutes), but as soon as you complete the ap they release funds I received 3 weeks retro and today I received a new pin and was able to claim the last two weeks,
Discussion on those possibilities is posted over on the newer forum:

That’s where most of us who used to post here are now posting. I just came back for a quick “visit” and to post the link for anyone who didn’t notice the new House bill. (There’s also a similar Senate bill now, with 8.5% instead of 9%.)
BTW, HR 3404 is now coming up on OC as a “hot” bill.
PAGirl:
I mailed it on the 10th.I wasn’t able to log in to this site for the longest time, so I was just combing through all of my PA friends comments, and I think it was you who said you has received your packet and the bar code and everything matched up, so you were just going to use the last form from the last batch, dated week ending 8/8. So, that’s what I did, and then, of course, I received the packet in the mail that afternoon. I don’t know what I would have done, had I not been able to at least read what everyone else was thinking! Now that I can finally log back in and post, it’s a relief, but I would feel a whole lot better if I had some money! I asked the rep if there was anything she could see that was a problem or something to hold it up, and she said there were no notations and no sign it had been received. I will wait until tomorrow, and if there is still no update, I will take your advice and call back and ask for a supervisor.
Thanks for your help!
Duncan,
When did you mail the form in? I will keep my fingers crossed that when you wake up tomorrow you will have a payment issue date. I wonder if you are at the end of your quarter? The last UC rep told me that they review everyone at the end of their quarter to make sure you don’t qualify for regular benefits instead of the EUC or the EB. She said that normally it happens without any delay but sometimes it does cause a delay of a few days. I had it happen once when my payment issue date wasn’t until a Wednesday. I was a wreck, calling every day. Just a thought….I know it doesn’t help much. I would try calling back and asking for a supervisor. They should understand and be willing to go over things with you.
Good luck!
DannyDog:
I didn’t have an update yesterday, even though it showed a COB of 8/15. I called, waited on hold for nearly 1/2 hour and was told they had no information. I crossed my fingers while the info was coming on my screen today, thinking surely there must be a payment issue date by now, and it shows a COB of 8/16, but still the last payment issue date shown is 7/25. So, I called again, held forever again, and was told they can’t even begin to look into anything for me until the 21st (Friday), and that I shouldn’t even call back before then. I really hope something shows up tomorrow, because I am getting very nervous and am in desperate need of that money.
The Ct DOL website originally said we would know mid-August but they recently changed it to LATE August…with of course no further explaination!!! I think everyone is busy out selling cars for the Governor!
I hate to say it but I’m glad Obama is dropping the healthcare issue for now. Hopefully this administration will concentrate on the economy and jobs now.
Also what is the update on extending benefits for the longterm unemployed? I know there were a couple of bills out there. Would we still have to be over 9% to qualify or are they toying with the one in which all states get at least 10 or is it 11 weeks and states with very high unemployment get 20.
Thanks!
Jen
Finally I can login again to this site!
Does anyone have an update on CT? When will we know if we are getting the last 7 weeks? I have not had a check in a few weeks now and it has been so scary.
Thanks!
Jen
