    I was a teacher for two years and the only thing the NEA ever did for me was call me aggressively during the 2004 elections and tell me that they “had determined” which candidates it would be best for me to vote for. Oh, they took my money too. And they made every teacher meeting into a Union grievance fest. Union pay structures reward solely on seniority and don’t tend to take merit into account at all, and people wonder why our education system is failing. If you are a lousy teacher that can put up with kids, you’re ahead of a young, bright educator in every way.
