    This bill has been bouncing between different committes for years, I don’t think it has a chance of passing…

    I’m not so sure. With control of Congress switching from Republicans to Democrats and with all the grass-roots lobbying that’s been going on for it lately, it just may pass.

    But most of the money is going to really solid places. For example, according to the Carmen Group, the money in this bill is only the baseline amount needed to continue medical research at the same level it’s at today. Taking funding out of the bill would essentially eliminate a lot of very important programs.
