To amend the Federal Water Pollution Control Act relating to recreational vessels.CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
This Act may be cited as the `Recreational Boating Act of 2007'.CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
(a) Pollutant- Section 502(6) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (
(1) by striking `(6) The term `pollutant' and inserting the following:CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(6) POLLUTANT-CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(A) IN GENERAL- The term `pollutant'; andCommentsClose CommentsPermalink
(2) in the second sentence--CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
(A) by striking `This term does not mean' and inserting the following:CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(B) EXCEPTIONS-CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(i) IN GENERAL- Subject to clause (ii), the term `pollutant' does not mean';CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
(B) by striking `(A) sewage' and inserting the following:CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(I) sewage';CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
(C) by striking `or (B) water' and inserting the following:CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(II) water';CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
(D) by striking the period at the end and inserting `; or'; andCommentsClose CommentsPermalink
(E) by adding at the end the following:CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(II) any deck runoff from a recreational vessel, any engine cooling water, gray water, bilge water effluent from properly functioning recreational marine engine, laundry, shower, and galley sink waste from a recreational vessel, or any other discharge incidental to the normal operation of a recreational vessel.CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(ii) EXCEPTION- Clause (i)(III) does not apply to rubbish, trash, garbage, or any other similar material discharged overboard by a recreational vessel.'.CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
(b) Recreational Vessel- Section 502 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (
`(25) RECREATIONAL VESSEL- The term `recreational vessel' means a vessel that is--CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(A) manufactured for operation, or operated, primarily for recreational purposes; orCommentsClose CommentsPermalink
`(B) leased, rented, or chartered to an individual for recreational purposes.'.CommentsClose CommentsPermalink
