Where do you figure these numbers come from?? Did you read the bill?? It sez, in part, that around 2.6 billion people in the world live on less that $2 per day, and the bill wants to better these folks’ situation to a level above that. So, according to MY very limited math, if we simply give all 2.6 million of those folks a buck or two, the program would cost us less than $5 billion (where does the $65 billion come into play??). Several big-time CEO’s could fund this much from the money they scammed from the U.S. taxpayer thru govt. giveaways, and not even blink an eye. The bill could be simply changed to “The Ultra-rich Scumbag CEO Two Dollar World Poverty Giveaway” bill, and all thoes but a handful of the CEO’s in question and EVERYONE in the upper echelons of govt. would be in favor of it. We don’t want to spoil these “dollar-a-dayers”, just double their income. YOU can live on a dollar a day now that you drive a scooter, eh? What if they doubled YOUR income? You could move up to a 650 Honda in a heartbeat!!! God (Dog) Bless America!!!

If there are 2.6 billion people on Earth living on less than $2 per day and you want to double their lifestyle to a mere $4 per day, it would require $5.2 billion dollars per day of additional funds, thereby requiring $1.898 trillion dollars per year every year without inflation (pipe dream). If, like every other big task in the world, the United States carries the majority of the load (because the Marxist regime here claims we are so evil), we could end up paying well over $1 trillion dollars per year. If the truth were known, a lot of those people the ‘do-goodies’ want to help would probably give back their $2 a day just to get rid of the ‘do-goodies’ and their overly self-inflated sense of worth.

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.
They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.
The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.
Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.
When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ, it’s because they want them in IRAQ.
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.
If we have open borders, it is because they want open borders.
There are no unsolvable government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like ‘the economy,’ ‘inflation,’ or ‘politics’ that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.
They and they alone, have the power.
They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!!

Actually, it’s conceivable that it would be split between 7 countries if Russia is voted out of the G8.

If the G8 remains intact, the amount that each country would pay each year(if it is shared equally) would be $3,125,000,000 (that’s Billion) dollars a year until the year 2010 in which the amount doubles to $50,000,000,000 which each nation would fork over 6.25 Billion.

I do not see a date in which the payments are supposed to stop either. It’s possible that the amount could continue until enough of an uproar is made by voters about this.

I have something I’ve been wanting to say for a while – I’m pretty sure that libertarians are the dumbest people on the face of the planet. Their distrust of government and constant sniping at anything that involves investing in the health of communities is incredibly shallow and short sighted. It is as though their lives revolve around the mantras of “individualism!”, “government is stupid and can’t do anything right!” and “let the free market decide who lives and who dies!”

1. You can be an individual, but we have to all get along. It might mean that you and your neighbor have to pitch in with the rest of the folks who are building that road you drive down to go to work. If you don’t want to play along, don’t drive down the road.
2. We do need someone watching the accounting, monitoring and evaluating, helping to provide the details of the state of the world. We need people who are effectively carrying out the will of the people. We’re a long way from ever living in a society that doesn’t have some form of government – until then, I want someone who at least believes in government’s ability to do some good things at the helm. Most libertarians bring an attitude that would lose every game if they were the coach, because, at their core, they don’t believe that humans have the capacity to cooperate. They don’t see how that is self-fulfilling. A snake eating it’s tail, if you will. If you hate government so much and fundamentally disagree that it has any capacity to work, then go live on an island with Glen Beck and let nature take it’s course.
3. The invisible hand of the free market is also known as, “all of the people with all of the money make all of their decisions with their own interests in mind.” Applying the profit motive to everything is not a solution. We cannot expect that putting a price tag on every possible service will serve the best interests of everyone involved. Ultimately it only serves the interests of the person who collects the cash. When corners can be cut in order to make more money, then corners are cut. With the American health care systems, that means death to at least 22,000 people a year. With global poverty, that’s 24,000 people a day. We have all of the resources on the planet to keep everyone alive. It is “the market” that is killing people when everyone is waiting for the right monetary incentive to save lives. The world’s richest people are not benevolent to the extent that they will voluntarily chip in. Most libertarians act like this isn’t already an option. It has always been an option, so I ask you, why isn’t it working? Or is it working, and you don’t really care that people die? Or some other pseudo-intellectual version of realism.

I guess that’s all, I just had to get it off my chest. I’m amazed by how vicious and self-righteous most libertarians can be, especially when their arguments are so shallow and obviously flawed.
