How can the government just stop unemployment extensions? Extensions have been available for Americans at times with less unemployment.
How are things so deferent now?
Is the government discriminating against the Americans that need extensions?
The Republican Party has made very wrong dissensions about what is require to help our economy. For one, the people who are eligible for unemployment extensions should be outraged from not getting extensions. Second, there not even ready to talk about emergence health care for the unemployed and homeless. Third, property taxes are higher than what older people get in social security.
Forth, food is going up thirty percent over night because of fuel prices.
The Republican Party has no common cents and You’re out of the Whitehouse.

For people with an income of only social security there taxes should be paid after they die from the sale of their home.
Fuel prices should be cut in half
A great nation would do this NOW.

Just saw on TV today that congress is working on the the new budget. It contains 35 Billion for Unemployment extensions and food programs if needed. I think they are needed now. Write your congressman and tell them we need it now. The Money is there.
Thank for the update on the status of Unemployment benefits extensions! I just returned home from the 56th interview since my lay off in September of 2007. Having worked hard for the last 30 years but now, I am facing living on the street if I don’t obtain employment by the 10th of this month.
I will take these last few days to write my congressman. But truly, I have no fight, or hope left! In 5 days I will be on the street and at the end of the month I will loose my car after making 35 payments. Good luck to all U.S. citzens that my have any unemployment benefits left. Start preparing for when you run out and you still don’t have a job!

I also watched the news today and did not see one thing stating Congress is in process on working on a “new bill”. I have managed to get an appointment with a “head hunter” on Monday as well as an interview…for a job that pays 1/2 of what I was making before my company sold us out. literally.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Voters in two Vermont towns on Tuesday approved a measure that would instruct police to arrest President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for “crimes against our Constitution,” local media reported.
The nonbinding, symbolic measure, passed in Brattleboro and Marlboro in a state known for taking liberal positions on national issues, instructs town police to “extradite them to other authorities that may reasonably contend to prosecute them.”
Vermont, home to maple syrup and picture-postcard views, is known for its liberal politics.
State lawmakers have passed nonbinding resolutions to end the war in Iraq and impeach Bush and Cheney, and several towns have also passed resolutions of impeachment. None of them have caught on in Washington.
Bush has never visited the state as president, though he has spent vacations at his family compound in nearby Maine.
Roughly 12,000 people live in Brattleboro, located on the Connecticut River in the state’s southeastern corner. Nearby Marlboro has a population of roughly 1,000.

I agree – cut the BS! Who really cares if GWB visits the NE area. You should be GREATFUL that he’s never visited your state as the President. This unemployment extension would help out in a VERY distressed country. This IS NOT a time for wise cracks and jokes. This is REAL!!! People are loosing everything they worked for and you are concerning yourself with who visits your state. I sent out 30 faxes and emails to elected officials last night, demanding our unemployment extension be passed because we American people NEED it NOW. Good luck trying to get GWB & DC arrested. Bush and the republicans wants you to dry up and blow away. They don’t want to give you an extension for unemployment. If they cared at all at least they would make unemployment comp non-taxable. Even McCain doesn’t care. If he cared he would have been at the vote when they voted on the stimulus package. He was conveniently abstaining from the vote. Just get a job and fuggedabout the extension. Wishful thinking. Bush says kiss off to those who are laid off.
Don’t blame Pelosi for giving up on the unemployment extension. The republicans and Bush were ready demolish the stimulus package if it included the unemployment extension. Bush/republicans are pretty happy with the state of our current economy.If jobs were plentiful,standard of living above poverty level. The WAR machine would have to go back to a draft.Our volunteer military is made up of very brave ,patriot young men who had no where else to go..

GOOD NEWS MICHIGAN’S UNEMPLOYMENT JUST DROPPED FROM 7.6% TO 7.1% MAYBE ALOT OF PEOPLE JUST EXHAUSTED THEIR BENEFITS? OUR GOVERNOR ALSO SAID MICHIGAN HAS 90,000 JOBS PEOPLE JUST HAVE TO GET EDUCATED TO QUALIFY. MICHIGAN’S GOVERNOR ISN’T GONNA GIVE A STATE EXTENSION NO TIME SOON, BUT SHE IS GONNA INVEST $$$$ FOR TOURISM IN THE STATE.
If anyone from the senate or news is reading this please do what is right and help the americans who are unemployed through no fault of their own. There is no better way to stimulate the economy then to put money back in the hands of those who are losing more and more everyday. Please. We need this to help us until we are able to find a job.
