The issue here is more that the government should stay out of whether parents (or anyone) needs a teaching license to home school. But, the bigger issue is that we should move beyond children as chattel. Allow the young people to direct and choose their own education and living environment.
It comes as no surprise that the People's Republic of California judicial system would even be wasting taxpayer dollars on such a clear constitutional right as home schooling.
California is so far out of the mainstream it's hard to believe they are even relevant to current events these days.
