How ironic. The term “New Deal” was first used by Mark Twain in his classic “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court”. The context was that he proposed a ‘new deal’ that would migrate society from the feudal system to a republic. We now have a congress that wants to migrate us from a republic to a socialist dictatorship while simultaneously honoring Mark Twain.
