This bill would establish a trade deficit reduction commission, responsible for determining the underlying causes of the US trade deficit as well as developing a plan to overcome the deficit within ten years. The commission would be required to consider such hot button issues as tariffs, foreign currency manipulation and the costs of controlling climate change, as well as ways to boost domestic manufacturing and agricultural production.
