I want this bill to pass for Jasons wife kids and loved ones. So that other families do not have to go through what this family has had to deal with since March 5 2009. If you were to sit and think bout it real hard this could have
1 be avoided if truckers had better parking
2 If you were to sit and think bout it this could have been a close friend or loved one of yours so please get this bill passed so that none of involved with trucking has to go through this.

Presently this bill is one of the most important and crucial bills for the trucking industry. At a time when safety is at the top of the priority list, safe truck driver parking should also be at the absolute top of this agenda

Many do not realize that unless there is more parking for drivers, they are not just forced to park illegally or in an unsafe environment to rest, but many times they are forced to drive tired: a major safety hazard on the highways for everyone

Fatigue is a major cause for trucking accidents and one of the factors is the lack of sufficient and safe truck parking. Professional truck drivers are required by law by the Hours of Service regulation (HOS)to take a 10 hour break to ensure they are rested and can safely operate their trucks. Without safe and adequate parking, many drivers are not only forced to break the HOS rules or to park in an unsafe place, but are forced into a position to put themselves and other on the highways, at risk by driving tired
