Why would Congress, or for that matter any part of Govt think in their wildest dreams that a VETERAN would even think of being associated in any way with terrorists or have any poart of terrorism? This is most puzzling to me.

Anyone that might protest or revolt. Anyone that has weapons! Anyone that posts here I assume! They will turn the police and military against us and PURGE us. We are no longer in control and they are going to show us who is. It will be an Epic FAIL all the way around!

CowboyRick… See what Timothy McVeigh hath wrought?

Someone may think of reading a BILL before co-sponsoring it or read the BILL prior to voting on it. This BILL becomes too ambiguous-It is supposedly to keep weapons out of TERRORISTS hands and impede their travel to and from this GREAT NATION but it mentions suspected persons and does not have anything to do with “DUE PROCESS” at all, needs to be re-written! To be a LAWFUL COUNTRY the LAWS of the LAND must be fair and equally distributed to the general populous equally! This Bill is not in any way along those lines.

Look at the Open Congress votes for all of these “VIOLATIONS OF REASON” (bills) and you will see that Congress is an EPIC FAILURE. They are voting to insulate and protect themselves from all of the people they intend to piss off! Look at the Bills! They are all last ditch save congress crap bills. The 2nd Says SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED and what do they do? INFRINGE IT! How do you get LIMITED from SHALL NOT INFRINGE. Well at any rate they are corrupted to the core and any law they pass now is just more corruption….

This bill is not ambiguous. It is very specific in removing without due process the second amendment rights of anyone suspected of disagreeing with the government. This bill is tyranny, pure and simple. This bill and the despots that cosponsor it can not be tolerated in a free society.

Remember a couple of weeks ago, when the DHS released the documents pertaining to radicals in the U.S.? You know, Ron Paul supporters, Tea party attendees, tax protesters, military personell returning from Iraq..ect..ect.
these are the so called terrorist this bill is focused on! This is just another blatant attack on the second ammendment, with no regard for the inalienable rights of we the people.

• Piskami 05/09/2009 7:43pm

This is just a bill to get around the 2nd Amendment. They can call ANY ONE a terrorist and remove there second amendment right. Christians, terrorist. Jews, terrorist. Anyone expelled from school, terrorist. I hope you all see my point.

This bill is just another staple in American Tyranny.

• AlphaOmega 05/09/2009 8:17pm

I mentioned over at HR45 that it sure looks like Communism and communist nations typically have PURGES. This bill here is completely exceptional in the sense that it just comes out and directly launches a war against millions of American Citizens. Start thinking this through but don’t take too long. We better get a combo 1st n 2nd Amendment DC trip in the works. By the way the other day (forgot the location) a guy was stopped and detained due to a “Don’t tread on me!” sticker on his bumper! I sh+t you not!

• Theultimateg 05/09/2009 10:15pm

Take note of all the representatives that co-sponsor bills that violate the constitution and make sure you don’t vote for them in 2010 if they come up for re-election. That is the first step in taking back our country. Every last one of them shows nothing but contempt for the constitution they swore to uphold and protect and should be put on trial for treason. Kick the bums out, every last one of em.

I would have to say the posts above are all spot on. Again I will have to put a big fat NAY on this garbage.

• indgosky 05/10/2009 12:59pm

Denial from mere suspicion? With no due process of law?

Not only would this mean another blow to the 2nd Amendment, but also to the 5th, 6th, and in many ways the 1st (because any opinion you may voice stands to make the AG suspicious of you)

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO on this!!

• AlphaOmega 05/10/2009 3:14pm

The thread for HR45 is so vast with so many votes. This BILL is even more diabolical than HR45 but there is so little activity here. I mention this to people and they look at me as though I grew a third eye. If anyone here has ever watched the movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” then maybe they would understand my POV. It is as though everything appears normal but no matter who I talk to they just don’t seem to care one way or another about eh Constitution. Many suggest that getting rid of guns is in the best interest of everyone. Is there something in the water that just does not work on me?

I get the same response from lots of people, don’t let it bother you, most people are clueless. What’s sad is that people get more passionate about their favorite sports teams than they do about their liberites and freedoms. It may not look like it, but more and more people are beginning to wake up. Which is good, because we will need all those people in order to throw most of congress out into the streets in 2010. Does anybody else find it strange that this bill was introduced by a republican?

Nay

The current 2 party system is a dog and pony show or more to the point it is a farce. The government has been overrun with Communists who use the 2 party system to set the entire population against itself. If you are intent on taking control it is better to get all parties involved fighting amongst themselves and then you just stroll in. Divide and conquer! Look at all of the other divisions. Race, 2nd Amendment, global warming, over population, abortion and anything else are political weapons used to prevent a general REBELLION. We are so busy fighting in and around all of these hot button issues that Sir Charles Lytton snuck in and took the Pink Panther (guess who all of the people are in that story).

Very good commentary. I agree except that in reality they’re not communists, but globalists that like any type of control system they can use. There are so many fronts of advancing tyranny that are moving by leaps and bounds and we haven’t stood up yet collectively for our rights.

We need to do it peacefully as they will use any violence to justify further encroachments (and point out the government actors who typically start violence).

• CowboyRick 05/10/2009 4:41pm

Definitely too much POWER to the ATTORNEY GENERAL’s Office-this Bill should FAIL! Still can’t get over a Republican having the audacity to co-sponsor it, a TRAVESTY!

• 530i 05/11/2009 7:02am

Passing this bill would be the beginning of a true police-state. An unelected person only has to make allegations, and due-process of law is thwarted. I’ll be curious to see if all the people who fought to close Gitmo because if was a violation of prisoners rights, will stand and protest to protect actual citizens of their own country.

Tavesty? More like blaten TREASON.

• TaskForce16 05/11/2009 10:33pm

This bill is nothing more than one of many steps the Obama Administration is using to garner his own “Enabling Act”, incrementally. Obama is looking to become “Dictator” of the new United Soviet States of America. But he has to disarm the citizens of this country before he can pull it off. THAT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN!

• CowboyRick 05/12/2009 3:04am

thorvaldr, I stand corrected, after reading through it again, I agree with you. One might even say TREASONOUS (sp). This is very sad to say the least! Jurus Prudence should be utilized and the concept is completely side stepped-a very big TRAVESTY.

• phans4u 05/12/2009 6:31am

The Answer is simple: NO Gun Control, of Any type. Read Second Amendment of the Constitution of the US, for those of you—Mr. King, Rangel, Obama, Holder—who are Not familiar with this document.

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is Liberty”
—Thomas Jefferson

• Stingray 05/12/2009 7:44am

I think Rep. King had the right idea in mind, but has failed to realize how the obamanation would use this if passed into law. He should check out the DHS and who they are naming as ‘terrorists’ now. Without any means of due process, checks and balances, this bill is the largest threat in defiance of the Supreme Court ruling upholding the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans.
The bill MUST be amended to include wording that would protect law abiding US citizens from being unjustly named as potential threats!

• Patriot76 05/12/2009 7:59am

The author, supporters and sponsors of this bill are considered terrorists to the American people and the US Constitution. This is a treasonous act which labels any defenders of liberty and the US Constitution as terrorists. A true oppression to the American citizen. An un-American act.

• AlphaOmega 05/12/2009 12:37pm

There should be thousands of posts on this thread already. It is as though everyone is drugged. This is no ordinary bill by any means. This says that mere suspicion will cause a full revocation of the 2nd Amendment. It is worse than that once you realize the complete loss of the 4th and 5th and 6th and 7th and 8th and 9th and 10th and even the first amendment. With suspicion only they may enter your home and search for ARMS. This violates the 4th that calls for a warrant, etc. I’m sure that you can put the rest of it together.

If we protest this “THING” they call a Bill we will then be subject to 2nd Amendment revocation. This is a open call to REVOLT. It is that simple. Just the idea of this bill being debated in Congress is enough to make a REVOLT. Everyone that reviewed and voted on HR45 needs to be brought in on this one and fast. The Bill of Rights is not negotiable.

• StrikeHold504 05/13/2009 5:19am

I hope Congress passes this, let’s get it out there in the open of how much you despise average, hard working, law abiding fellow CITIZENS. Yet they won’t, they will continue to subvert from what their true cause is, because they are gutless, and fear 100 million LAW ABIDING American Gun Owners that they would like to deem “Terrorists.” There is not a standing army on god’s green earth that can enslave the American people, unless we let them.

• jestrada 05/16/2009 2:59pm

The 2nd Amendment is clear, and no one individual (Attorney General) should have the power to stop the transfer of a firearm base upon their individual biases. The AG is a political appointee, and this not a matter of politics – it is a matter of rights bestowed by our Constitution.

• StrikeHold504 05/17/2009 8:26am

This bill inadvertantly states that our current background checks and waiting periods are ineffective. This bill is NOT neccessary. ENFORCE THE LAWS WE HAVE! This is purely a power grab in the name of “Keeping us safe.” I don’t need your do nothing beaurocrats to keep me safe, that’s what my 1911 is for.

• AlmostFreeAmerican 05/17/2009 5:45pm

Truly, the sponsor and cosponsors of this bill should be removed from office immediately and tried on charges of treason and usurpation.

• chris79 05/17/2009 8:52pm

J. Edgar Hoover would like this bill. It mirrors what the government did during the 1950s and 1960s. The more things change the more they stay the same.
