Climate change has not been scientifically proven to be warming. We have sufficient science to show that we are actually entering a cooling period for the next 100 years. So why are we allowing a selective few, that think they are smarter than the masses, bully us into actions that simply cost us more and tax us more for no established reason. Global warming is a hoax and has evolved into a tax scheme where the government will use utilities as an extention of the IRS. This has absolutely nothing to do with the environment but has everything to do with control and manipulation of an uninformed naive population. This is a flat-out lie. This government has debased the currency and run up unsustainable debts so it is now looking for any way to confiscate individuals property and money. It is no more complicated than that.

I want to hear the politicians tout the tens of thousands of jobs “created” in the green sector and how that will offset the half million or more jobs lost in the rest of the market.
Until someone can put a dollar value on the global warming effect of CO2 or other emissions I don’t see any need to cripple our economy.

I did not say the Earth’s temperature does not change; I said there is no credible evidence that humans have any significant impact on the change. And there were hundreds of scientists that were not allowed to speak at that conference with evidence that disputes anthropomorphic climate change theory.

Let us first look at our definitions. Stagnation means “to stop developing, growing, progressing, or advancing”. Stabilization means “to keep from fluctuating; fix the level of”. Do you see the differences? Let us not play on words as that’s a practice made popular for the naive. What we are seeing in our country is a decline in development, growth and progress. The companies that use fossil fuels recognize its profit, regardless of how dirty it is (no, coal is not 99.7% clean, it’s a dirty fuel). The process of cleaning coal before it’s burned costs more money than it’s worth to use the end-product. It’s a waste of money, time, and technology. If that’s not stagnation (no matter from where the cause came from), then I don’t know what is and neither does the English language. How much have you actually researched renewable energy sources jrista? In my observation of your post, it seems to me that you haven’t at all.

Cap and trade is just another power grab by our federal government. It will be a additional tax burden…one that we cannot afford. Cap and trade, along with nationalized health care, will be disastrous for the United States of America.

This bill would not only add many dollars to our utility bills – not just for the rich, but for everyone, but it would destroy jobs in this country. Why would anyone pay cap and trade taxes here when they could go to China and not have those added taxes. Secondly, the science that is being used for these “global warming” stats has been proven to be false. Get a good “Discussion” with varied scientests – not just those that agree with Al Gore and prove with accurate data that the globe is actually warming. Plant a few trees – that will take care of the CO2!

Oh yes, just what we need another tax. This is one of the dumbest yet. What is our government trying to do, DESTROY us. This will increase the cost of everything we buy, use, and consume. And it won’t change global warming at all. What were all the predictions on the first Earth Day? Google it…. not one came true. If those predictions had come true we wouldn’t be here today. Come on people, wake up write your Congresmen and Senators, let them know that this is a bunch of bull. Oh yes, we need to tax cattle also ( methane gas).

Most people in the world, given a choice, would prefer clean energy over “dirty” energy (even those of us who already know climate change is a scam). We don’t need any additional carrot or stick to choose clean over dirty. The problem is, there isn’t a choice yet! Other than nuclear (which Obama will not support), we have no alternatives that can take the place of Coal & Petroleum.
Go ahead and tax dirty energy to the moon, but FIRST make an equivalent clean alternative available (without affecting our food supply). If the government wants to solve the problem, they can invest in R&D until a viable alternative exists, then push a transition. Govt could make a deal with a private company to guarantee a 10-year exclusive if they make it happen. It is quite simple. This bill is about CONTROL, not about helping the planet.

This is nothing but a Globalist scam to fund the international elites.
The only Global Warming that is a real threat is a Nuclear Bomb.

Look into your refrigerators. How many beef, pork and dairy products do you have? Our dairy farmers and cattlemen are struggling. Will this tax keep the livestock from belching? All it will do is put the hard working Americans who feed us out of business. We need to support our farmers, not those on Capitol Hill who support the craziest tax of all.

Cap and Trade is a tax, and it’s a great big one. Even democrat Chairman Emeritus of Energy and Commerce Committee John Dingell says this. Everyone in Congress knows this is a tax on the American people.

Imposing such a tax during a recession is economic suicide.

Carbon levels are not at an all time high, they were highest in the 10th and 11th centuries. That aside, the ‘climate change’ debate is not settled. If our political leaders truly had our best at heart, instead of their selfish interests for power and money, then they would allow wisdom to dictate their actions. 1200 pages, ridiculous amount of government agency involvement, massive amounts of additional debt… the list could go on and on… all of it lacks wisdom and simple common sense and should cause the thoughtful person (regardless of which side you take in the debate) to question the motivations, actions, and goals of our representatives.

How many NON GREEN jobs will be lost if this bill is pasted? How much more will we pay in higher energy cost and taxes?

Are you kidding, have you even read the bill? They will create committees to oversee how food manufactures use energy and produce emissions. They will have to abide by new standards that will cost a lot of money that will be passed on to the consumer, same as gas will, same as car standards will, and energy standards will. Even home standards will change, imagine not being able to sell your home until you update the furnace and water heater in your home. It’s more than 45 dollars and besides we wouldn’t have to spend so much on gas if only the government would allow us to drill more in the U.S. We aren’t all about me me me, we just don’t want to go into a situation guns drawn without knowing everything that is going on, like the typical Liberal.

Although we need a way to encourage more eco-friendly business practices, cap and trade is not the way to go.

This bill is just another scam to raise our taxes. In reality if passed the energy tax would:

Reduce aggregate gross domestic product (GDP) by $9.6 trillion
Destroy an average of 1-3 million jobs, every year
Raise electricity rates 90 percent after adjusting for inflation
Raise inflation-adjusted gasoline prices by 74 percent
Raise residential natural gas prices by 55 percent
Raise an average family’s annual energy bill by $1,500 annually
Increase the federal debt by 26 percent, which is $29,150 per person
