Global warming is a hoax and has evolved into a tax scheme where the government will use utilities as an extention of the IRS. This bill would cost millions of jobs. I own a small business and I know what I'm talking about. How is paying twice as much for energy at my shop, paying twice as much for raw materials, paying twice as much for shipping,paying twice for groceries, travel, hotels,god, the list is endless! I will reduce the number of emploees immediately if this bill passes.

CO2 levels have no measurable effect on the Earth's temperature.
Updates to measurements and models now show a .7 degree rise over the last 100 years. That is less than the average over the last 300 years. CO2 levels are at or near some of their highest recorded levels over that same time span. If the amount of CO2 had anything to do with warming, we would be in the middle of a global heat wave by now. We are not. Some reliable predictions have us cooling over the course of the next 50 years or so. If the science were settled, then there wouldn't be so much decent from PHDs around the world.

Government jobs are paid for by taxpayers. Once a government job is created we pay the wages, medical & vacations of that person in that job! Well for twenty years until they retire.
Then, we pay their retirement and someone to replace the person who retired.
After another twenty years, we pay 2 people retirement pay and yet another person to do the job that the first 2 retired from.
Don't ya get it, a gov job only creates more $$ needed to run government!!

That's an additional $260/month. I don't know about some of you but I can't afford that.

There's this thing called the internet, where you can read all sorts of interesting studies, facts and theories about so-called global warming/climate change. I would go to google.com and try doing a little research yourself. There are plenty of scientists who de-cry the THEORY of man-made global warming. I learned about scientific theory in my seventh-grade science class, and if I remember correctly, a theory is not the same as a fact.

I believe NASA has also reported a drop in tempurature over the last decade. There are also reports that the polar ice caps, while receding in some areas, have actually increased greatly in other areas. Also, there appears to be significant correllation between sun-spot activity and the earth's core tempurature.

Man-made global warming is nothing more than a theory which has become the new religion, and the televangelists (i.e. Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi) are making a whole lot of money with their fire-and-brimstone preaching.

Where are the American people???? Everyone should be contacting their senators and state representatives every day opposing all this nonsense, the government is putting everyone out of work, well except for gov employees, which we pay for.

How will we know when we have "defeated" climate change and can stop taxing and regulating? It will never happen! Just like the "War on Terror". I'm all for common sense solutions. Why don't we just plant more trees? They devour carbon dioxide and emit oxygen. I'm all for regulations that stop pollution, but not a tax that is a "pollution fee" that energy companies pay the government and simply pass on the charge to each and every one of us.

This bill would not only add many dollars to our utility bills - not just for the rich, but for everyone, but it would destroy jobs in this country. Why would anyone pay cap and trade taxes here when they could go to China and not have those added taxes. Secondly, the science that is being used for these "global warming" stats has been proven to be false. Get a good "Discussion" with varied scientests - not just those that agree with Al Gore and prove with accurate data that the globe is actually warming. Plant a few trees - that will take care of the CO2!

Cap and Trade is a tax, and it's a great big one. Even democrat Chairman Emeritus of Energy and Commerce Committee John Dingell says this. Everyone in Congress knows this is a tax on the American people.

Imposing such a tax during a recession is economic suicide.

A privately owned company, small business; they hire people to work and they pay their wages, not the taxpayers.
Government regulations cause small business to go out of business, thus costing Americans jobs that are not paid by taxpayers.

It also gets turned off same day every year, so if it gets warm earlier or stays cold later is also not govs concern.
