Agreed. It’s amazing that the American people have allowed themselves to be suckered by the absurd notion that more gun law makes people safer, when mountains of evidence hold the contrary to be true. Can it be coincidence that cities backing the severest anti-gun laws also trade from year to year the shameful notoriety of being the murder capitals of the nation – Chicago, Detroit, and Washington D.C., all places where fascist/progressive policies flout absolute constitutional protections.

Yes it should be entirely unnecessary, but then so should the Bill of Rights. And without our precious BORs, we’d probably be squatting in dirt-floored huts right now, eating rice with our fingers.

I’ve faxed my reps on the matter as well. The socialist/communists in our senate and congress want this so when we are stuck with a socialist/Marxist PRESIDENT we’re stuck almost forever with the hump. I believe the term should be SHORTENED. The same for most of our useless and worthless senators. Also I feel the SCOTUS should be elected and not a politically oriented selection by a president who wants a clone to be a Supreme Court Judge.

The Supremes were meant to remain above the political fray. That’s all we need – to have these judges running around the country campaigning like the politicians. I’d almost think some random/lottery pick of state judges would be better. The person you really want to serve in the courts is someone who never sought the bench to begin with and who is reluctant to possess that kind of power. What we have now are career lawyers who spent their entire lives striving to get their sticky paws on our Constitution.
