The Boy Scouts of America discriminate against gays and lesbians. They also discriminate against non-religious Americans, who consist of a quarter of the population in some states. The federal government should not be supporting this pro-discrimination group, and certainly should not be shrinking our public lands for their private benefit.

An private non-profit organization has the right to restrict membership to those that fit the organizations binding traits.

@claudy27: Correct, BSA as a private organization has a right to discriminate. Problem is that this is a transfer of public property to a group that openly discriminates with animus. The boy scouts should be treated like any other private organization and deals such as this that transfer public property for FREE should be looked upon skeptically. As an Eagle Scout, I believe the BSA should stop its discriminatory practices. This handout just rewards it for continued bad behavior that would not be tolerated from any other organization.
