If the people chosen to make those life and death decisions are as experienced in the areas that the other czars are….this government, or the one world order will quickly have to find another source of revenue, because we are doomed. Wait a minute, maybe Justice Ginsburg will decide…
I don’t understand where this bill is a mandate.
Sec 101 of the bill defines requirements for new individual and group health policies (no cheap, worthless plans allowed). Section 102 provides protections for consumers that choose to keep their current insurance plans.
Whether or not the bill creates a good “public” plan is up for debate.
“I don’t understand where this bill is a mandate.”
What do you call it when someone says give be your money or I will put you in jail?
What would you call it if someone tells you to buy a product from them or they will put you in jail?
It is a mandate because you have no choice your either buy into it or you go to jail.
Do you consider a health savings account with a high deductible insurance policy a cheap worthless plan?
It’s as voluntary as paying taxes….Now who said that?
Once again you have failed to read. Are you just here trolling?
Who said you couldn’t keep your HSA? Where did you come up with that?
can anyone tell me where to get my own copy of this health care bill?
clock the tab "overview " on the top left, then click the tab for the bill on the top right
What I meant was that you don’t have to get rid of your private insurance. You have a choice, private, or whatever the other plan turns out to be. Yes, of course I understand that the intent is to require (mandate) that everyone have some form of health insurance.
EHH, Wrong again.
Government vouchers and subsidies will help cover, if not fully cover, the cost of health insurance for individuals making under 50K, and families making under 80K.
It’s all right there, just finish reading it.
I thought you said this bill would not be paid for with taxes?
Your math is off it’s a $500.00 fine at $20,000.00.
I don’t see any criminal penalties in the bill, only civil ones. Did I miss something?
I don’t see a distinction between the two. If in fact you fight or ignore the civil penalties you will then face criminal ones. As for your families situation I don’t mean to sound harsh but you are there relative only to your decision to be there. I think insurers need to have some serious regulation yes but I do not agree that the government should in any way foot the bill for your health insurance. Change your lifestyle, demand tort reform, demand that state restrictions on health insurers be removed. There are numerous ways to do this right and they aren’t that complex. But don’t tell me I should pay for your health insurance against my will and act like it is anything, anything at all other than theft.

False read the bill, minimum requirements for health insurance policies are raised by this law, insurance companies are now to be required to pay for all prescription, all substance abuses care, all preventive medical care, ie health club membership. . This is going to force everyone’s rates to go up, whats going to happen when the old hippies discover that hey can get all the “free drugs” they want? For reals if you are forced to pay for everyone else’s drugs you may as well get all you can to try to get your moneys worth. I’m thinking Adrerall), ambian and viagra(yippY) they all look to be fun drugs, oh and some vallium and maybe some Marinol(ie pot pills)? can you smoke marinol?
This is not free health care, , This is a law that requires everyone to buy a health insurance or go to jail, it makes it so that insurance companies can not offer high deductible insurance policies. Health savings accounts( most affordable insurance for many) will no longer be legal.
The Guide to Clinical Preventative Services referenced at Sec. 122(b)(8) is at http://www.ahrq.gov/clinic/pocketgd08/gcp08s1.htm . Nowhere on the list is health club membership listed.
Nowhere in this bill does proper and sound medical judgment immediately result in free handouts of whatever drug you like. Cite the section where medical standards are so relaxed if you can.
Where do you get your information? Why are you spreading falsehoods and misrepresentations deliberately?
for starters you do not need to create a new screen name every time you make a comment you are not fulling anyone, all people hae to do is click your name and see that your every post you make is the same age as your screen name.

You can already get a prescription for anything you want by asking a doctor that is not going to change. If you want aderall you tell the doctor you are having trouble focusing, if you want ambian you tell the doctor you are having trouble sleeping, if you want viagra you tell your doctor you are having trouble sleeping with your wife (is the doc going to follow you home and see if you are lying?) If you want Marinol you tell the doctor your are nauseous and can’t keep food down, if you want vicodin tell the doctor your back hurts, a doctor can not feel your symptoms they have to take your word for it. If you want vallium tell the doctor you are suffering from panic attacks.
Are you sugjesting this bill will make it so that Doctors can no longer prescribe drugs as they see fit? Doctors are already giving people prescriptions for medical marijuana is that “proper and sound medical judgment” have you not read the news about the drugs that were “prescribed” to Micheal Jackson? Do you have any Idea how many people on disability are addicted to pain pills yet the Doctors keep writing them scripts for more.
Still here spouting lies? You must own a pharma company. Please read the bill or troll on Youtube. See Marxmarv’s source.
I was quoting from marxmarve’s (your) source, I followed the webadress you provided, also why do you get a new screen name every time you comment? it fools no one, clicking your name shows that you opened this account the at the same time you made these comments. Just like every other time you get an account make comments, make a fool of your self then get a new name.
health savings accounts are a joke, if you do not have the money to buy insurance you surely do not have the money to save , some of us barely get by on what we make after the light bill is paid, the phone, auto insurance and groceries … we are the ones that are always told “you dont qualify” and there is nothing left over after basics , i am against a mandate , but this may be the only choice i have
I’m watching heath care go from patient care to corporate america. If a sick patient needs medicine; medicine we know will make them better. To be told by the insurance company they can’t have that medicine because they won’t pay for it, is infuriating. Guess what, it’s not a Dr. making that decision. It’s office person who is following a policy making that decision. The trick is finding out how to code the billing in order to give the best patient care. It’s difficult now. The prospect of the Federal Government making health care decisions is disturbing. We see alot of Canadians as patients for this very reason. So I stand by my comment, I don’t want my health care from the same people who brought us the U.S. Postel Service. It’s not a slam against the people of the P.O., the military, the police, it’s a comment about the bureaucracy of these agencies.
My grandmother had occasion to write to her Congressman a couple of times while I was growing up, as a last-ditch measure to maintain her government benefits and our relatively simple standard of living. That option isn’t part of the private insurance system.
You fear the government because it hasn’t worked for you in the past, most likely. This is no reason not to advance programs that actually DO inure to your benefit.
I don’t know if you’ve worked both sides of the issue, but your premise if patently false. I have been a clinician and in managed care at multiple companies/hospitals and all medical decisions are made BY PHYSICIANS at insurance companies!!! Just because they are communicated by office workers (most of whom are nurses) does not mean they made the decision.
Most of the time, the issue is that MD’s/hospitals who have contracts with these insurance companies, can’t be bothered to learn what is needed by the company in order to properly present the information needed to override a pre-programmed medical policy. If you make a call or give justification, usually you can get them approved, however, you cannot make a unilateral decision to give your patient something not approved for the disease, by the FDA and expect reimbursement.

Troll on youtube please. While the rest of us actually read the bills.
“We should strive for healthcare for all Americans”
Why?
Why is it right, proper, LEGAL that someone who voluntarily chooses not to have health coverage should be FINED 2.5% of their wages or pay?
People keep saying that the American health-care system is “broke”, but I have yet to hear anyone tell me what is broke about it. Considering how many nations that already have socialized health care send their people to the US for care-Canada, Mexico, the UK—I really have to wonder if these folks know what they’re talking about, or are just parroting the party line, like good little commies. “Dear Leader says we must do this! Yes we can!”
