Would you be willing to extend this line of logic to both the Patriot act and our military incursion into Iraq?

you are right, for one we cant afford this bill obama has spent more money allready in the little bit of time he has been in office than any president has spent in there whole term in office, he is breaking us, and i think he is doing it on perpose. think about it he’s a globalist which for anyone who does not know what that is he believes that we. should have a one world government and join together as a one world nation. thats insane ok thats stupid. now people ask well how would that prove he is destroying us on perpose, its common sence just look at the facts. how do you bring down a country, you destroy there government, make the people beleive everything is falling and get them to agree to change forms of government. he is doin that now poeple think everything is falling apart. next you swich government he is pushing us to socialism which is comunism which is crazy.

Let’s just keep the status quo and have premiums go up every year till no one can afford insurance any more.

    Track record counts..
Take a moment and watch the 60 minutes report http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=5419844n and be honest; would you expand or contract the authority of such an organization? If medical fraud is so easy and the government is so incompetent why would anyone want to empower the incompetent? How anyone can think the government can provide better care than private coverage after seeing how we treat our veterans, elderly and poor is simply dishonest or disillusioned. If this debate were being held 30 years ago it would be laughed at, 50 years ago considered communist infiltration and 100 years ago treason. How much we have changed….. Would our fore-fathers be proud??

I don’t want health insurance to be mandatory. My intent is to live overseas, helping those in third world countries. If I can’t live without health insurance now, how can I then?

For me, this is just an added tax.

I may be alittle off your topic,,,,,,,

Why should this BILL be any different from the past reform BILLS, I’m 50 and for as long as I can remember my grandpa told me to be very careful of what a politician tells you, if he/she says it’s for your own good, run and run away fast. Our country is failing, it’s that simple. The people voted for this, the big question is why?
“WE THE PEOPLE” doesn’t mean a thing anymore. If anyone hasn’t noticed, they (the politicians) only speak about the American people needing healthcare reform; they (the politicians) don’t need it. They (the politicians) have lifelong healthcare. All Americans should have the same access to the same health care “The very best” if a person wants more they should have the right to have more. Illegal people should pay.

agreed; Sorry but I don’t trust politicians who make promises and I’m certain that if this gets rammed through, we will regret it. People need to remember that the federal government doesn’t make money, they are spending OUR money.

Well stated Andrea. I couldn’t agree with you more. My issue with this whole healthcare reform is that so much time and money is spent of finger pointing at the insurance companies, but there seems to be no focus on the fact that we live in an over medicated society which is the real reason in my opinion that healthcare costs are so high. Your average senior is on 10 different medications and others seem to get perscriptions for every symptom they have. I’m too young to remember but I don’t believe we have ever had so many people on so many medications in the past. Insurance companies must pay out for these medications and to subsidize they increase our premiums. I believe we need to stop blaming them and take a look at our medication dependent society. Cut down on the costs of medication and other unecessary proceedures and you cut down on healthcare costs.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi seems more interested in getting her name placed in the history books for passing health care than listening to the people. On this very page, 22% users support this bill. Question – is she suppose to speak for the will of the people or the will of Speaker Nancy Pelosi?

This is not representation of the people. This bill will break this countries back financially. Please listen to Caterpillar which is the world’s largest producer of construction and mining equipment among other major manufactured equipment. This bill will cost them $100,000,000. What do you think will happen to jobs and economic prosperity once this cost has to be paid by them? This is irresponsible legislation.

    Stop this nonsense now!

A health care bill should not even be on the table in any form. The core issues are not being addressed and to me those are far deeper than health care itself or even the need for it. The main objection for me is to any form of government involvement that “requires” anything from the American people when matters are discussed and decided behind closed doors. As a country we have no business considering spending money! At every level of government there has been atrocious betrayal of trust, wanton disregard for the spirit of law, and worst of all is the absolute defiance of the wishes and demands of “We the People”. There is no reason to hand over the health care needs of this country to government until faith has been restored and there has been no effort to do so. Furthermore, the people making these decisions for us don’t have to live with the end results. It isn’t possible for one to be objective about something they will never feel the consequence from. This is totally unacceptable

When was it that “We The People” counted last? Maybe during the Reagan administration?

Read the www.pnhp.org website, Physicians for National Health Plan.
The physicians of American support HR 676, a single payer plan, would save $350 billion a year. The for profit insurance companies (insure the healthy, deny the sick) are emphatically opposed to HR 676 and buying out our legislators. So no cost report has come from the CBO. This HR 676 would make our health care cheaper, but cutting out the profits of private insurance companies, and keeping choice in our health care. I can choose my doctor. That’s the choice I want. And she can give me what I need.

We know where you are coming from… the point is we do not need any federally run program or better dictated program.

speak for yourself – I don’t have insurance. And I’m not alone. If I get seriously ill… what does it mean for me? It means debt I can’t pay – possibly bankruptcy… but you’re fine, right? so then… what’s it matter?

If so, pay for your own health insurance and leave me alone!!!

Then why do you not buy health insurance if you want it? You can obviously afford to by computers and internet access? Do you realize that if this bill passes you will be forced to buy insurance and that the policies will be more expensive after this bill passes then they are now?

It’s funny you should say “We the people” don’t count any more. We have become more of a divided nation because of both parties. Democrats are trying to take charge regardless of what the majority of “the people” think about issues and bills. The Republicans have been silent and seeking on the most part-their own best interests and not listening to what “We the people” want. We lost our Democracy after Kennedy was assassinated. I think things should be more out in the open and not done in secrecy. I question anything done in haste and secrecy. Is this really best for “the people”

Our republic has been under attack by the left for a very long time, Kennedy might have been a classic liberal and a hawk, but he like Obama was a demagogue and his death did not lead to where we are today.

Read Mark Levin’s, “Liberty and Tyranny”, and Amity Shlaes’, “The Forgotten Man” for starters. Another great review of history in the political and practical sense is Jonah Goldberg’s, “Liberal Fascism.” Educate and arm yourself with real information.

You aren’t ‘under attack’ — nor have you ever been. Tell me, what rights would you have given the rest of the world… were it up to you pmconnors? Would black people have rights? Women? Gay people?…Would medicare exist? Welfare? Unemployment? is this the evil liberalism you speak of – people recognizing that we all deserve rights and that we all have the responsibility to help each other? What progress would this country have made were it not for the ‘liberal’ agenda?

Do you not consider the banning of the words “american” “americans” and “american citizen” in public school text books an attack on out republic?
