Can someone please tell me why $7,400,000 is going to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute? Oh wait, that was struck out and $20,000,000 WAS PUT IN to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate!!!!!!! THANKS SENATOR KERRY, YOU SURE NO HOW TO SPEND THE TAXPAYERS MONEY!! That kind of stuff is for private donations.
Hi Suzie,
The Institute will be dedicated to educating the general public, students, teachers, new Senators, and Senate staff about the role and importance of the Senate.
The Institute will have museum and exhibit space, ceremonial and reception spaces, a library, research area and several classrooms.
Programs for incoming Senators and their staff will include in-depth training sessions to prepare them to analyze issues and communicate about them effectively, both in the Senate and with the citizens they represent.
Sincerely yours,
Josh Washington

How much of that 20,000,000,000 for Edward Kennedy Institure wil be borrowed from the Chines??
:) Too many zeros there. It’s 20 million, not 20 billion! Not that 20 million is anything to sneeze at.
Guess we will wait and see what provisions are added to this bill like the unemployment extensions.
We need to really look at the 5% of the population who have almost 50% of all the money and ask ourselves if this disparity should really exist and if it threatens our freedom to govern fairly. A blind man could see that from the president on down all of the politicians are on the payroll of this 5%. Think about it. How many times have we all said no and the congress goes ahead and does it anyway. Displaced people have been persecuted to carry the economic burdens of this catastrophe and forced to stare at life with no income or hope, while Wall Street is laughing all the way to the bank. It’s never about the populace, rather political self preservation at the expense of the people! Somehow, we have to get rid of all the ramped corruption. Forget politics, it’s cognitively dishonest thieves on all fronts, at any cost who bailout self serving wealthy people and corporations while they could care less about the middle class who need unemployment benefits to survive.
Thank you Sen. Franken for the amendment protecting American’s constitutional rights or coprorations (Haliburton/KBR)
