Keep in mind that although federal employees receive subsidized health care coverage (it ain’t free…), many fields receive a less pay than for an equivalent position in the private sector in exchange for more security and benefits such as this. TANSTAAFL, even there.

That is very true and a very good point. But there is a difference between Congress and Federal Employees. I didn’t really stipulate that before.

If this is the Government Option, do you realize that they put in a provision for users of this program to be implanted with a microchip? Do you want to be chipped by your government? Big Brother is at your doorstep. I would wake up and ensure that you are not tracked like a slave. All right, since you are already spooked, check out this scenario:

BOX 12: Technology & Virus of Dannion Brinkley’s Prophecy (http://www.qsl.net/w5www/brinkley.html)

“There was an even more sinister side to this chip. A person’s lifetime could be limited by programming this chip to dissolve & kill him with the viral substance it was made from. Lifetimes were controlled like this to avoid the cost that growing old places on the government. It was also used as a means of eliminating people with chronic illnesses that put a drain on the medical system. People who refused to have chips implanted in their bodies roamed as outcasts. They could not be employed & were denied government services.”

This site has the full bill available, why try to post this bullshit here? I checked out the site and checked its source, the source doesn’t exist in the bill. The author of that website means to reference SEC. 2571. NATIONAL MEDICAL DEVICE REGISTRY. Please check out the section of the bill for yourself, no where in it does it say that everyone will be implanted or kids will be implanted when they are born. There is no program called CHIP in this bill and we are not going to be tracked like slaves. Your paranoia is unfounded, there are no death panels (SEC. 223. HEALTH BENEFITS ADVISORY COMMITTEE.), the government isn’t going to pull the plug on granny, and you are not going to be micro chipped.

I was going through the sections of this bill last night. It’s everything we’ve been fearing, and a whole lot more.

Here are a few examples for everyone:

Sec. 1501: Requirement to maintain minimum essential coverage. Requirement? I don’t need no stinking requirement. I have every right in the world to go outside the poor excuse that we have for a system.

Sec. 1502: Reporting of health insurance coverage. …Why? Last I checked, my insurance was my business. You don’t have the authority to force me to tell what I do and don’t have.

Sec. 1512: Employer requirement to inform employees of coverage options. Again: Why does this need to happen? The employer isn’t responsible for the individuals insurance. It’s up to the person in question to decide whether they want to look over their business.

That’s just a taste of the crap that’s in this bill. Anyone that supports this needs to get a reality check.

    TITLE V—MEDICARE GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION

Sec. 1501. Distribution of unused residency positions. Sec. 1502. Increasing training in nonprovider settings.

By the way there isn’t a Sec. 1512.

I can’t believe this GARBAGE legislation is making its way through congress when so many Americans are against it? Who are these senator’s, who are supposed to be representing American interest, listening to if not us? These kinds of politics make me SICK!! Our politicians have been bought off, obviously!!… but I suppose that’s old news. When will America be America again?

    RESTORE THE REPUBLIC!!

I just joined and am not going to read through all of the pages of comments. What’s the point? All I know is there are those of us who are disabled to the point we aren’t able to work and very probably never be able to work, yet the Government wishes us to pay for Medicaid to the tune of $800.00 a month, which is almost half of our income. We therefore are unable to have health insurance. What I see now is the answer to health care is to make it a law that we buy health insurance to solve the problem. Great plan. I also see this country seems to be made up of many who pretty much feel folks such as myself are a burden on society. Thx for that. Maybe I should have a let a Viet Namese shoot me in the head while I was over there fighting for your right to consider me a burden on society. Simply put, our elected officials are only doing what their constituents are doing, looking out for themselves first and to hell with everyone else. It’s so nice to live in a civilized world.

581 in favor / 2217 opposed so far on this site. There was 75 people or so that worked in our facility before they deployed to Iraq and I knew of just 4 that supports this bill. Just Four.. And of all my friends that never had anything to do with the military, some of them have college degrees, run there own buisness, some just regular blue collar working folks. Not one of them wanted this bill to pass. Not one.. Just another burden placed on our nation by members of both parties that never listen to the citizens of this land..

  • VoteNoDem2010 01/07/2010 4:19am

Sen. Ben Nelson said Tuesday it was a mistake for the Obama Administration to take on massive health care reforms in 2009, and suggested efforts would have been better spent addressing the economy.

YOU THINK! Man… how smart are these politicians we send to Washington, key word politicians, it about them not us. Vote out politicians and vote in experienced business men and women that are not career politicians. Think about it!

We American citizens should be afforded the exact same health benefits as our esteemed Senators, representatives and all US officials. They get to vote themselves raises during these economic times and act as though they deserve them, that somehow they are better than us. Not one of them is better than us, all they want is to better their careers and see how much money and perks they can accrue from lobbyists and special interests groups who are more than happy to pay them off. Our Government appears to be becoming more and more immoral and corrupt as each day passes. American citizens should get the same equal health benefits as our elected officials, if they can’t agree to that, that is just one more reason we need to fire them all and give someone else a chance to treat us as equals.

I agree, as my mom says "I think it’s time to make our public servants real public servants, reduce their wages to $10.00 an hr while they are serving, deny them any perks, if they violate any of those issues they are automatically impeached and replaced by the opposing candidate with the second highest votes.

You know not one of these bills actually address Health Care Costs, they address Health Insurance Costs, which are 2 different beasts entirely. If we could get the actual costs of health care under control then perhaps we wouldn’t need insurance at all. Many of us who have been forced to file bankruptcy due to the extreme costs we’ve accrued because of chronic illness or a catastrophic event, would have been willing to pay for those medical costs had they been within our means in the first place.

H.R. 3962, and it’s senate version, would create a system to require adults (over age 19, U.S. citizens, not incarcerated) to enroll themselves and dependent children in a plan through the state-wide Health Help Agency (HHA) unless they provide evidence of enrollment or coverage through Medicare, a health insurance plan offered by the Department of Defense, an employee benefit plan through a former employer (i.e. retiree health plans), a qualified collective bargaining agreement, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or the Indian Health Service. There may by a religious exemption under this proposal. Each adult would have the responsibility to enroll each child in a plan. Dependent children include individuals up to age 24 claimed by their parents for deductions in the tax code.

I don’t need to be required to have insurance since there’s not a real and valid reason for that.
