I wouldn’t go that far. I believe in capitalism and the free market. I’m against profiting by fraud and deceit. But you are both too compassionate for this crowd.

It is YOUR choice…. not my choice. You can pay for whatever you like. I should not be forced to pay for others choices. It’s a concept called “liberty” you should give it a try.

Show me one government run program including the USPS, Medicare/medicaid, social security, etc… that is run efficiently and thats NOT operating in the red. How can we better get it into peoples head the nation can NOT AFFORD THIS LEVEL OF SPENDING!

As Alexis de Tocqueville once said, self-indulgence accompanied by concern for nothing except personal materialistic welfare is the major menace to America’s future.

    GOP Sweep Imperils Obamacare
Obviously Christie’s victory is a body blow to Obama after Corzine outspent the Republican by 5:1. Corzine’s defeat sends a message that the nation is moving sharply against Obama.
The party discipline on which Obama depends to pass a healthcare program that Americans reject by 55 to 42 percent (Rasmussen again) will only work if beleaguered Democratic congressional incumbents can wrap themselves in Obama’s cloak and tough out the popular criticism. But the limits of Obama’s drawing power are readily apparent in the Republicans’ 20-point victory in Virginia and the race in New Jersey. By: Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

Top Dems: No Health Care Bill in 2009
By JONATHAN KARL11/4/09, 1:44 AM EST
Senior Congressional Democrats say reform before end of year is highly unlikely.
Senior Congressional Democrats told ABC News today it is highly unlikely that a health care reform bill will be completed this year, just a week after President Barack Obama declared he was “absolutely confident” he’ll be able to sign one by then.

“Getting this done by the by the end of the year is a no-go,” a senior Democratic leadership aide told ABC News. Two other key Congressional Democrats also told ABC News the same thing.

Voter attitudes — particularly among independents — could bode ill for Democrats in moderate districts and in swing states like Ohio, Colorado and Nevada, should they remain unchanged when the party seeks to defend its turf next fall. In 2010, most governors, a third of the Senate and all members in the House will be on ballots.

It’s also difficult to separate Obama from the outcomes after he devoted a significant chunk of time working to persuade voters to elect Deeds in Virginia and re-elect Corzine in New Jersey.

More than four in 10 voters in Virginia said their view of Obama factored into their choice on Tuesday, and those voters roughly split between expressing support and opposition for the president. People who said they disapprove of Obama’s job performance voted overwhelmingly Republican, and those who approve of the president favored Deeds, the Democrat. DEEDS/OBAMA LOST BY 18%

Yep… That tends to happen when the current administration cares more for their Ego than the people who elected them…

Unfortunately, this may not translate into a loss for Obama in 2012. The Democrats lost seats in the House & Senate in 1994 after Clinton was elected but that didnt translate to a loss for Clinton in the 1996 Presidential elections. The Republicans picked up 8 seats in the Senate and 54 seats in the House durring the 1994 elections.

Why would we care what Valdimir Putin says about how we should run our country? What goes on in our country is purely a domestic matter and no one should look outside the US to seek the opinions the countries of the rest of this world… ESPECIALLY that of Russia, China, Iran, N. Korea etc. Need I go on?

The White House wants to bar illegal immigrants from buying health plans in a new purchasing exchange, even if they use their own money. Gutierrez and other members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus say that goes too far.

Gutierrez said that Obama “calls them illegal and criminalizes and dehumanizes them.”

So far it is not backed up by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, or Rep. Gutierrez himself. Considering it’s not consistent with recent releases and statements by the CHC or Gutierrez, and she is the only source, the only conclusion one could make is that it is another Erica Werner whopper. And you swallowed it whole; hook, line, and sinker.

I find the bill a simple power and money grab by and for the government. They even have regulation in it on vending machines and chain restaurants. They also have worked affirmative action into it. A separate surcharge for high income earners. I am still reading it and still have to keep picking my jaw up off the floor.

Before you support this actually take the time to READ IT, then see if you still support this insanity.

OBAMA: “Part of that strategy is health care. We know that as long as Native Americans die of illnesses like tuberculosis, alcoholism, diabetes, pneumonia and influenza at far higher rates than the rest of the population, then we’re going to have to do more to address disparities in health care delivery.
More than half of all Native Americans and Alaska Natives, especially those in remote areas with limited access to care, rely on the Indian Health Service for their most basic needs.“
Indian Health Service IS THE WORST HEALTH CARE IN THE USA. “Indians die at far higher rates”
The government didn’t provide adequate health care in the past and can’t in the future RUN HEALTH CARE. JUST-SAY –NO TO HR-3962

Don’t be misled. Title VIII in this bill addresses that. It seems to include some of the provisions from H.R.2708 – Indian Health Care Improvement Act Amendments of 2009.

lucasfoxx-No one is misled. The government has 200 years of history of abuse of Native Americans and their health care. It is still the worst health care in the USA even if Obama and the Democrats through a little more money at it because of the recent criticism. Please be honest, the government did not do justice to the Native Americans health care and Obama confirmed it. Just because Obama has included the Indian Tribes in HR 3962 only means the rest of us come down to Indians level of health care not that the Indians come up to our current level. (Unless you think the government has grown a heart.)

WASHINGTON – Thousands of conservatives rallied at the Capitol on Thursday against the Democrats’ health care overhaul plan.
“This bill is the greatest threat to freedom that I have seen,” House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio told the crowd gathered on the lawn near the West Front of the Capitol.
Said Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa: “We’re not going to leave this Hill until we kill this bill.”
Among the signs in the crowd was one reading, “Vote no to government-run health care.” The crowd included a significant number of older Americans.
With no Republican backing, Democrats will need overwhelming support from within their own caucus. An intraparty disagreement over how to prevent federal funds from being used to pay for abortion has not yet been entirely resolved.
House leaders are also still grappling with illegal immigration, and should be able to purchase insurance coverage within new government “exchanges,” using their own money. msnbc.com staff and news service reports.

11/5/2009. More than 20 thousand Americans arrived in Washington DC for a rally, called an emergency “House Call.”
Those who attended are now tracking down their elected representatives in Congress to put pressure on them to think twice about voting for the more than $1 trillion health care overhaul pushed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and for them to try and explain the pages in the bill HR-3962. They are marching in the halls of the House each carrying a page of the bill looking for their congressman. God Bless America and these loyal Americans.

  • bkrueg 11/05/2009 11:16am

So your point is someone else should have to pay for yours and your family’s medical bills. What makes you think HR-3962 is free medical? It’s a $ 1,200,000,000,000.00 medical bill on the heads of every man, women and child for 10 years. There are only 307,212,123 Americans. That’s $3,908,795,000.00 each American over 10 years or $390,879,500.00 each American per year. ($1,070,903.00 per day, 44,621.00 per hour, $744.00 per minute) That my fellow Americans is over-reaching. My opposition to HR-3962 is it is un-constitutional. It is a power grab by some who think the constitution is a living document and then finds powers where none was given or intended. This power grab takes away from Americans god given rights. There is nothing preventing the government from fixing the wrongs in our health care; just not an over-reaching government takeover.
