I don’t need the money. You sound like you are at the national median. You’re family would clearly benefit from this legislation. You should look at it. Good luck to you.
The point of what I’m saying is that Government Bureaucracy always gets in the way of the welfare of the citizen. Your Government liaison isn’t working their job because they care about taking care of the less fortunate, they are there picking up a pay check and they don’t care about helping anyone get everything that they should.
So, whether or not someone has a job is a completely ignorant means by which to get your point across.
To the Democrats & Republicans in Congress who don’t quite get it: I want to offer a personal pledge. I and a lot of other people have every intention of removing you from Congress in the next election if you stand in the way of health care legislation that the majority of the American people want but without any type of public option attached. That is not a hollow or idle threat. We will come to your district and we will work against you, first in the primary and, if we have to, in the general election. We do not want the “Public Option (single payer of any kind)”…..period! Rest assured, we are all watching how you vote now and in the future.
The Declaration of Independence is not a legal document in this country. It is just that, a declaration of our independence. It holds no legal precedent and therefore no legal standing.
Might I also add, that no where in the Constitution does it grant the right of the government to empower it’s self. This is not how the founders of this country intended our country to be.
I would also like to highlight a simple phrase “pursuit of happiness”. Do you wonder why the Declaration of Independence doesnt say “guaranteed happiness”? Simply put, the Government cannot in any sense guarantee your happiness. Simply affording you the constitutionally guaranteed rights is the only thing that the government can do to enable your pursuit of happiness. No person or entity can guarantee happiness.
Obama’s failure to act on a Clear and Present Danger.
Deadliest week so far for children and swine flu in USA
ATLANTA – Swine flu has caused at least 19 more children’s deaths — the largest one-week increase since the pandemic started in April, health officials said Friday.
At least 114 children have died from swine flu complications since the spring, up from 95 reported a week earlier, according to the CDC.
Millions have been sickened since April. Swine flu is more widespread now than it’s ever been, with 48 states now reporting widespread flu activity. The only states without widespread flu are Hawaii and South Carolina
Also expect more, a second wave of swine flu leaves 24 in London fighting for life.
There are 751 people in hospital across Britain with the virus, of which 157 – or 20 per cent – are in intensive care. It will take up to three weeks before all 1,700 GP practices can start vaccinating.
DO NOT TRUST THE GOVERNMENT FOR HEALTH CARE.
You are right. This guy from Michigan should stay there. He thinks he is an Intellectual but can’t spell it and does not know the rules of grammar, either. How can you take anything he says seriously? He is a joke. I think he should move to Cuba or China and see how wonderful it is to live in a collective. He could get a really good taste of socialized medicine along with poverty, destitution, depression and maybe suicide.
See? He just believes any outrageous thing. Then he reposts it here.
They can do it with all other types of insurance. Auto, life, property, etc… there is no sensible reason why health insurance can’t go across state lines as well.
Because of the ablity to cross state lines with my auto insurance, and property insurance I get exellent rates and can pick and choose which company I feel will treat me best. With health insurance the way it is I get BCBS, if I don’t like it tough crap I’m stuck. And with no competition they can pretty much charge whatever they want.
The “difficulty and clerical effort” would be the same as with any other insurance company.
The Democrat health care bill is strictly a huge power grab period.
The only reason the Democrats wanted to fastrack this bill was because they didn’t want people to have time to read the text stating that we would be paying for it for 4 years before we got any benefits from it. This would allow congress to shrink their budget deficit before the end of Pres. Obama’s term. Here’s a thought – Stop spending money on pointless pet projects. If you want to spend money to stimulate the economy, do it on infrastructure repairs and upgrades and allow private contractors to compete for the jobs. If they took all the TARP funds and had invested it in road resurfacing and expansion they could have added hundreds of thousands of jobs, albeit temporary, to the economy. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
AND on the issue of morality legislation… Legislating morality is a matter of perspective. No matter which side you look at an issue, isnt it still legislating morality?
For example, I see no difference in legislation in favor of Gay marriage or legislation opposing gay marriage. Both of these issues legislate different aspects of morality. Is it morally right to not give these people the right to marriage or is it morally right to outlaw gay marriage as a whole. Where is the line drawn? I think that no matter how you look at it, it’s a moral issue. I also think that many debates dictating the moral highground can be sumed up in much the same way. No matter how you look at it, you are legislating morality…
Just a comment on your “hypocritical legislation of morality” comment.
You are the one who doesn’t have the facts, H1N1 is MUCH worse than seasonal flu. Try going to actual sources and statistics, say from the National Library of Medicine or the CDC… natural news is not an actual news source…
1) H1N1 infects deep in the lungs which seasonal flu does NOT http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/09/090910083915.htm
2) H1N1 has already killed over 90 children. Seasonal flu kills at max 88. 74 have died since they just ‘reset’ the clock in August, 19 http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm#MS
3) Seasonal flu usually only kills elderly and immune compromised. This flu is killing young people, and middle-aged people, many previously healthy
4) When it comes down to it, H1N1 will end up claiming many more lives than seasonal flu. It is foolish to compare a year of a disease course with a disease that just emerged a few months ago. I’ll be happy if you were right, but sadly I fear you’ll be eating your words by next April.
Thanks. That’s amusing on a number of levels.
I dunno… many charities do great good in our country and others without the help of government aid.
I want to help who I want to help, not who the government makes me help.
I agree fraud and abuse needs to be addressed. Those provisions in this bill were a pleasant surprise to me. But I think the costliest abuses are on the insurance side. There are primary care physicians that will charge less if you are not putting it on your insurance, for example.
You don’t pay for her family’s healthcare. Unless they make less than 4 times the federal poverty level (4*14,570 for a family of 2), they cannot receive any subsidies.
Even if they only make 3 times the FPL ($43,710/year), the subsidy is only the average of the 3 cheapest basic plans in their area minus 10% of their annual income.
The car insurance remarks are insulting to our intellegence. NOT THE SAME THING! Also, Jail time as a consequence for not buying the insurance is absolutely ABSURD! Did anyone else hear OBAMA side-step that question on consequenses for not buying OBAMA-CARE?
I know of many that have said I wish I never had voted for Obama we all make mistakes and your right many will choose differently next time around. I just hope we don’t lose to much of our freedom in his term.
The topic has always been HR3962. You’ve been unable to stick to facts and have resorted to personal attacks.
What right is it of yours for you to attack people who have legitimate concerns with government spending? Just because the Obama Administration says that the Tea Party Rallies are a small fraction citizens who are “Just wrong” (His words, not mine) doesn’t mean that he speaks the truth. Are you foolish enough to believe the words of a self serving, self righteous and selfish politician that doesn’t really care about anything you think? Are you so delusional to think that you should go out and buy a boat when you can’t even pay the electrical bills? Because that is exactly what is going on here. The Government (Obama), in his infinite wisdom, this that we should spend WAY more money when we are so far in debt that we can barely keep our heads above water! Think logically, do you go and buy something JUST because you want it but you can’t afford it?!? NO!
And anyone can troll. You could actually make an legitimate argument rather than spout single minded foolish rhetoric.
But I guess you follow the ideals of der Fuhrer Hitler and Comrade Stalin right? Why else would you support reeducation and internment camps like the ones that you’ve discussed previously in this discussion board.
Honestly, I’m so sick and tired of people like you coming on here and demeaning our LEGITIMATE objections to this Health Insurance Reform legislation. It is that SAME kind of narrow mindedness that you accuse your opponents of. That’s called being a hypocrite. That is so weird, that’s what you call your opponents too! You people will really do anything to forward you socialist agenda’s, wont you?!
One last thing, you could at least use your words in proper context. Belligerence doesn’t even come close to describing bkrueg. How about calm, collected, polite, adamant? Those are all proper words. The only person who is belligerent here is you. I realize that only a few of us were taught by our parents to be respectful of others, you were definitely not one of them. Be respectful or don’t comment at all.
hahaha you are a joke my friend

H.R. 1495 is interesting. Isn’t this government provided health care since you can deduct it from your taxes? Doesn’t that mean the people on this site would be paying for your health care? Tax credit for Health Savings programs would be good, though the limits to carry overs with Flexible Spending Arrangements needs to go away or be changed. The repeal of the 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income threshold on deductions for medical expenses would certainly cut down our personal costs, but it would also strip away the budgetary benefits of the other side of the equation.

Read your comment then go back and read who you are replying to… You just repeated the same thing he was talking about. If your coverage does not meet the minimum requirements then you will be subject to a tax.
I have been looking through the copy of my Constitution and I can not find where it states Americans must purchase anything. The HR 3962 Bill states that there will be a tax up to 2.5% if an individual does not have “acceptable” health care coverage. When someone locates it please let me know. Thanks.
And why ARE the congress and senate exempt from this plan?Because it SUCKS ASS and they know it.
There’s plenty of money to be found in fraud. If we would eliminate fraud, we could reverse all the spending and deficits inflicted upon this nation since January. Obama and his supporters, everything they say and do is fraud. That’s the fraud we, as Americans, need to eliminate. Obama speaks the truth, only the actual meaning is not being pursued. This intentional fraud on the American people is no doubt something that the statists and fascists laugh about amongst themselves, on how very clever they are in exploiting the naivete of people who still believe their statesmen could never be so very corrupt. I have no such illusions, nor did our Founders. America, fortunately, is waking up to this threat to our liberties. Come Tuesday, and then come Thursday, the country and our alleged representatives are going to get a taste of genuine Americanism.
