I too am in the same boat (and sinking fast) but in Colorado they told us to keep filing since we hit Teir IV and that it would be retroactive. Also not to refile because that would confuse the computers…hope that helps.

My husband was layed off through no fault of his own and was only on his first tier when it ended in June…he has apps and resumes’ out everywhere…you can’t make people hire you…so what are people suppose to do?…it’s basically the have’s refuse to give to the have nots….I don’t care how many tax cuts you give the wealthy…they are not creating jobs for people here…they are sending it overseas…I think once it leaves this country for someone else to do the work that an able bodied American can do and give a job to someone..it should not be let back in this country…or taxed so high they will want to bring it back to America…I can’t wait to vote in November….

How do you know what tier you were on? I received 77 weeks,I think….. definitely not 99. I’m in a high unemployment state, Ky. I can get no helpful info from the UI offices or their onlne site. I’ve been told to keep claiming my weeks….but the balance is 0…Do I re-file online, or will that hurt me if that’s not the route I’m supposed to take???? Errrrggghhhhhh…

The official count of unemployed also does not include the ones that didn’t qualify for unemployment,therefore they did not file. I know several that were fired or quit their last job, disqualifying them for benefits,in most cases.

At 218, the remaining not voted could have all voted against the bill and still have passed.

Here’s one of the inefficiencies that I’ve brought up…the vote timer has expired and still nearly half haven’t voted…what’s the reason for this? When the timer goes to zero, it should be over with.

As adamantly as they all spoke about this, you’d think much of the voting would be done already. I don’t consider myself less patient than others, so apparently the sheer inefficiency of this process is really on show….

I agree. The official unemployment numbers that are reported do not include what are referred to as “discouraged” who have given up looking for work. It also does not include those that are grossly under-employed and working for substantially less than they originally were making for the simple sake of taking a job. These facts are not conspiracy theories and there is plenty of information out there to validate that the “real” rate of unemployment is hovering around 20% nationally when the “discouraged” and the “under-employed” are counted in addition to the so-called “available work force”.

And BTW. The only thing that destroyed the unions was the unions themselves and the Democraps who jacked up the minimum wages to over $8/hr. Between the two of them big business got smart and started sending jobs anywhere else where they could get less costly labor. End of unions. End of jobs. End of story. PART 2 – Have any of you unemployed folks who do get the full meal deal ever wondered if it was even a FAIR deal to begin with? Life is a carp shoot when it comes to which votes the Democrats will buy next. And, BTW, there are 8 million jobs sitting out there waiting to be filled by the 8 million plus who have been milking the new 99+ week gig for over two years now. Jobs no unemployment office I know of has ever bothered to tell anyone about. Those jobs are posted down under SMALL BUSINESS OPORTUNITIES. All you have to do is START YOU OWN BUSINESS. That’s what I did. When you hit 50 years of age and nobody will hire you because your medical insurance costs more and because you are over qualified and you are a white male and smarter than 99% of the hiring managers out there then you have little or no option but to get creative and start learning how to become your own boss.

PART 1 – I have been “unemployed” from June 2004 until now. I looked for jobs for 26 long weeks, took my UE checks, paid my bills, found out there was another path vs. the UI line, and moved on. Nobody has ever called me and said, "Oh BTW you are now included some bill Congress passed that gives you retroactive UI payments for the extra 73 weeks that you did not get back when you got laid off. So, now you get to play catch up and get the same cut from the system everyone else gets…” I’d love to get an extra retroactive payment of around $36,500 for my fair share (at $500/wk average). What the F is really going on here? How come those who began getting UI payments 99 weeks or less ago get an extension from the Democraps but the folks who were laid off 100 or 101 or 1001 weeks ago and are still hunting and get squat?

and, what now is the official handling of the FAC as we move forward here with this bill, is it completely done for anyone starting ANY NEW TIER, or will it just not exist for those beginning UI state claims and successive tiers (no fac). If you have any tiers left your unemployment will be reinstated and retroactive. Those instructions you were reading were for the last extension. So apparently you were in whatever tier you were in before 6/2 that is why it ended on 6/20 but you weren’t able to got to whatever your next tier was.
