I know, it sounds like the USA vs CSA all over again… and on the point that the main reason for the Civil War was state’s rights…I think it would be over fast. I think most of our military will see it for what it’s for and turn on commanders taking command from the traitorous ones.
The other day the DHS released a report that listed veterans among others as possible terrorists and threats. Now we get H.R. 2159 TA DA!!!
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., has sponsored H.R. 2159, the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009, which permits the attorney general to deny transfer of a firearm to any “known or suspected dangerous terrorist.” The bill requires only that the potential firearm transferee is “appropriately suspected” of preparing for a terrorist act and that the attorney general “has a reasonable belief” that the gun might be used in connection with terrorism.
Over 1 MILLION Americans are now on the NO FLY LIST… Do you see where this is going? See what happens if people allow 2nd Amendment legislation when the highest law in the land says, “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED”
This another are where the government wants to interfere. The problem with this nation is it wants to put band aids on the cancers. Guns are not the problem – the hearts of people are. I know being a minister that you can’t regulate morality – niether can you legislate it. Part of the problem is we have people running this country who care only about their comfort and wealth. the days are long gone when the welfare of the people and the needs of the people are the most important thing.
As far as I can see the government is mostly comprised of COMMUNISTS. That is incompatible with our Constitutional Republic.
I can’t believe it and this is supposedly Our Government! Communism has finally arrived VIA the Democratic Party!
Let me just say for the record that I wish this was not so but it is impossible to deny. The only way to resolve this is to follow the words of Jefferson and Washington. The Founding Fathers were wise beyond their years when they added the 2nd Amendment. The created a fool proof way to determine if we were indeed in a Constitutional Republic or something completely different. Ask random people what kind of government we have and 9 times out of 10 they will respond, “We have a DEMOCRACY, wow are you ever dumb!”

The FF’s realized that property is the most important thing but in a pure Democracy the Majority will constantly vote against the individual who winds up with nothing. In essence Democracy always becomes Communism. They chose a plain English Constitution and were particular that the Bill of Rights have included text like, “Congress shall make no law respecting…” and, “Shall not be infringed” and, “No Soldier shall” and, “shall not be violated” and, “nor shall” and so on… Here they were placing boundaries and limitations on the GOVERNMENT. Any law on the 2nd Amendment is proof that the trust is already broken.
A REPUBLICAN has co-sponsored this HR2159 What a travesty. Guess that leaves only the “LIBERTARIAN PARTY”-don’t know what they stand for-though, but the Democrats are a NO NO and now the REPUBLICANS are going off the deep end.
This is so advanced that we are on the verge of a massive purge. If one were so inclined he might want to stock up on water, canned goods and ammunition. He might if so inclined die on his feet rather than serve on his knees. Just today I heard that Senate Republicans want to know who leaked the threat assessment report that named Republicans and veterans as likely terrorists. To me that is the signal that there is going to be a governmental purge now. Look how Specter went to the other team. The worst thing is that all of this is in the open. 10 Planks and you can cross them all off of your to do list.

Has anyone else noticed that the more the government controls are live, the less freedom we have? If these gun bills pass – only criminals will have guns. They don’t care what the laws are!

Its so funny how states say they will vote for secession from the union… I hope they know all federal funds would end..no more money for roads or social security money for the disabled or elderly. Guns should be like cars….1. you need a License to use and 2. You need it registered. It’s funny how people don’t want the government in their homes to take guns, but they are ok to let them in to control what consenting adults do together, or what people put in thier bodies.
This Bill and HR2159 gives too much authority to the Attorney General, both need to not be passed-this is too much for one man, plain and simple! Eric Holder is not capable of making prudent decisions either-the 2 times that I observed the man he seemed ANGRY and beside himself, I don’t think that he could handle a situation that would take a calm, diligent, aproach to come to a good, legal conclusion.
Why don’t they take all the guns away from the cops too? Especially the security at the Capitol building. They can pass whatever they want from now on… I will never comply with these new Eric Holder/Obama laws. Tired of it.
If they put half the effort into fighting crime as they do trying to put law abiding citizens in more danger THEN we would actually be safer.

Also, if Obama would just pass another law that makes it illegal to commit a crime with a gun, wouldn’t that be good enough… wait… he should amend it to state that it should be illegal for criminals to commit crimes with guns.

The focus is the preservation of the 2nd Amendment. The idea that the penalty for murder or attempted murder should be different because of the type of weapon is just more anti-gunner nonsense that has been thrown around enough that it sticks on a few of you. For instance if you shoot my wife or stab my wife and as a result she dies I want you to suffer.
Since that is not going to happen if you are convicted of murder the public wants justice. I would want justice too and so if you got the death penalty for murdering her with a gun why would you get a lesser punishment for murdering her with a knife? Complete anti-gun nonsense. The gun is worse than a screwdriver? The 2nd Amendment restricts the government directly, talk about that!
darkmoon9, where do you think that this Federal Monies comes from? Could it come from the States through taxes levied by the Fed? If Texas was to seceed, which I hope never happens, where would the refineries for the gasoline that you or your parents purchase be refined, how about another country! As far as that goes-how about the fruit, vegetables and meat that you have come to admire and enjoy and the list goes on, but this is not the Question, what is the question is How can a Politician of any rank allow this to happen? Since when do you think that it would bother Social Security checks in any way? This is paid in advance by the person as he/she works throughout their lifetime just as pre-pay of retirement benefits from a Company that you have worked for-the benefits cannot be denied because of this. Many people that are retired, live in foreign countries, and they receive their checks on time!
It is the right of Americans to keep and bear arms and taking that away from us is taking away one of our essential rights. I have nothing to hide as far as registering my guns is concerned. However is this going to make all the bad guys out there register theirs? No way. I’m a 70 year old female and have hunted most of my adult life, so I’ve had hunting rifles, shotguns and pistols, my right as an American citizen. I don’t think anyone should have assault rifles, etc., in their homes. These are not hunting guns, these are guns made strictly to kill, kill, kill, human beings. As such all should be totally outlawed in this country. Why does anyone need one unless they intend to kill with it? Please someone in congress use your heads – work for us the people instead of for your party, that’s why you are there – to represent us and to defend our rights, not take them away.
So then you do agree with HR45? It in and of itself does not do anything except create requirements to continue to possess the arms you already do. It also charges a renewable registration fee for each gun you do own. It requires that you get a special license and endure testing to qualify to own a gun or to continue to own guns you already own. It gets into assault weapons and all of the ones we were banned from owning are now back to this bill.They in this case don’t ban the guns. Instead they ban the gun owners. If you fail to comply with any of their rules and regulations they will confiscate your weapons.
Cowboy rick I do not think any state should seceed, if they try I think the military should go in and crush them, and yes I know all the trouble that would cause, but any state thinking of that is just a crying baby and needs to be spanked. The easier it is for the good people to get guns the easier it is for bad people too. This bill is just another ploy by the liberals to infringe on law abiding citizens’ second amendment rights. It will not do any thing but cause a lot of red tape for lawfull gun owners and put more guns in crimanals hand who could care less if they have to have a permit to have a firearm or not.
