Ever since Obama has taken office, he has tried to make us 1 Government. Now, our Healthcare isn't enough, that HE is attacking the Fire Arms Control. It is our right to protect what is rightfully ours. My husband and I have worked so hard to provide our family a roof over our head, like our homestead. Now our government wants control of our fire arms. Our Nation is so undivided right now, that it scares me to think what our President is going to do next. America wake up! We need to get the people that we voted into office to be our voice out of office, and lets put people in there who will fight for us. Lets don't let the government take over our fire arms. We need our fire arms to protect ourselves from the criminals. Now, if we don't do what is required, we will be criminals. Where does it end??????

Any politician who votes for this nonsense should be drug tested and given a mental evaluation ASAP. I propose having anyone who votes for this should be the one who has to knock on the door of gun owners and ask to see his/her license.

Of course this is BS and has no way of passing and I read the link - "why do people submit bills that are dead when they are submitted". They just want to get noticed, stir up the water, or have people look at them saying "Oh, that guy is someone we should look at for XXX when we want somebody for XXX. We should have a bill introduced that impeached congressmen/women who introduce bills like this. It's the same thing as frivolous law suits, you can be counter sued for that, why don't we make them accoutable for introducing stupid,ridiculous legislation that is going nowhere, will never go anywhere and wastes the government's time as well as gets the country up in arms over nothing! My right to own firearms, as defined, is an unalienable right, not granted me by the government, and which the Constitution of the United States is supposed to afford the citizen a protection against the interference of this right by the government. Too many for too long have been willing to sacrifice rights in favor of the "common good"; I'm sorry, but this is far too socialistic for me. These people have been sworn to defend and uphold our Constitution, yet it seems to be tossed aside further and further with each and every move they make.

HR45 does Obama's bidding to get all firearms registered while making you a lawbreaker if you have a firearm and fail to get a liscense. Has anyone checked the ongoing amendment(Senate Bill SB-2099)to IR Act of 1986? Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It will require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun. This bill was introduced on Feb.. 24, 2009 by the Omama staff. HR-45 and SB-2099 seem to go hand in hand. Wow!

This looks a lot like some of the actions of 1930's Germany. Citizens unarmed are far easier to manipulate, as they rely on the same government that is trampling their rights for protection they can no longer provide for themselves. This is like a very bad dream.
A lot of people thought the the bureaucrats dismantled the Constitution when they passed the "patriot act" I agree.

There are no laws that grant the people the right to protection-no one is assigned to protect me-I don't get issued an armed guard to protect me while I walk my dogs at night in a drug/gang infested city. However, the 2nd. Ammendment allows me the option of taking care of that myself...God forbid I ever need it...but if I do, I know my chances of surviving are greater than if I had to wait for the cops.
This bill is completely absurd. I am a proud gun owner, hunter and outdoorsman. I am not a criminal, but I would like to think that I have the right to protect my family and home without becoming one. Punish the criminals for gun crimes, don't take away our rights. Does anyone in DC have any common sense?

It seems like no one has taken in to account the fact that this bill has no committees or cosponsors, and no chance of going anywhere. So it seems like everyone is getting their panties in a bunch over nothing.
Those that propose such bills as well as those that support them should be removed from office and tried for Treason as Domestic Terrorists. At the very least they should be charged under the federal laws found in Title 18 sec 241 $ 242. To let these Anti-American Oath violating nut case politician terrorists continue year after year, term after term as if they do no wrong needs to STOP, NOW. Bills like this one when passed into law only help the real criminals, at the expense of all citizens, and those that lend help and support to the criminals by acts like this one deserve to be punished, in fact we need to make an example of at least 10 of them, a very public example old school style.

Wow, did someone just bring up gay rights in this forum? And besides the right to bear arms and the reason for it are very clear rights. Smashing homosexual marriage into religion and thus the first amendment is not very clear at all. And i to hate any proposed law that interferes with my right to own tools/arms. What about this bill is asking us to give up our guns? I don't see it. I am a proud gun owner, and a Soldier in the Army, and I don't really have a problem with this bill. I would like to see people have to work harder to get a gun. I think that would deter the morons from getting one. My neighbor accidentally shot a round off in his house the other day. I wish he had to take a test before getting the gun, because he would of failed or had to learn about guns prior to owning one. I hate the part about declaring the weapon on my taxes, as it has nothing to do with income. I wish the fairtax would pass and we just paid sales tax, eliminating income tax, the need for the IRS, and the yearly intrusion into our lives. I feel that income tax reporting is designed to be intrusive, collect personal information, and ultimately rob us of our money.
The rights of the average American are getting close to being non-existent. I have voted in every local, state and fed. election since I turned 18, but I feel more and more powerless, more and more like hunkering down on my property with my money in the basement, loaded for bear! Laws are passed that only manage to further strip us of our rights, while criminals simply find ways around the ridiculous laws that can barely be enforced, often costing who.....the Average American!
I think that this is all just a bunch of crap. The Government needs more money and this would be the way for them to get it. As an avid hunter, I find this very insulting. I will not pay a gun tax on something that has been in my family for generations. The guns that I do have put food on my family's table, and I dont know about some of you, but things are tough right now and I cant afford to go without my guns. Whats going to be next? Taxing more on the ammo??
Why should we follow a Government that could care less about us??
