A BILL
To reauthorize the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program for fiscal years 2011 through 2014, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
SEC. 2. REAUTHORIZATION OF LIHEAP.
Section 2602(b) of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981 (42 U.S.C. 8621(b)) is amended--
(1) by striking ‘2001, and’ and inserting ‘2001,’; and
(2) by inserting after ‘2007’ the following: ‘, and $7,600,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2011 through 2014. Notwithstanding section 2605(b)(2)(B)(ii), a State may use any allotment from funds appropriated under this subsection for fiscal years 2011 through 2014 to provide assistance to households whose income does not exceed 75 percent of the State median income’.
