I am writing as your constituent in the 27th Congressional district of New York.
In 1988, I attended an anti female genital mutilation (FGM) conference in Mogadishu, Somalia. Sadly, this obsolete human rights abuse persists, even in advanced economies such as the U.S. and Western Europe.
