If this isn’t for homeland security or military use, why should it be tax funded? Free-Market development has always been faster and cheaper!
I agree skip292. The free market always turns out a better product. Subsidizing something into existence before the research is there or the market is ready is a waste of our money.
The funding will go toward research programs in nanotechnology and for NNI/NNCO to function.
The problem is that in order for the US to compete with foreign companies a lot of capitol has to be invested to keep up. Countries like Korea and China already have a lot of Government monetary support, using the Country’s capitol to compete with the US. How can we expect to compete with foreign interest if we are unwilling to invest in our future? Without the investment, we will end up buying from these foreign markets, loosing US jobs and further degrading our economy.
And here I thought the US government was $11.8 Trillion in debt…..sure let’s spend more money on something we really don’t have money for.
