This has been passed by the House before – now it’s even better because it’s alone – no brainer – get it passed ASAP, get it over to the Senate today and get this passed there – before tomorrow – it shouldn’t even be something to sit on or think about. Just DO IT please! The longer it takes, the more everyone will feel the effects of this sitting out there and hanging over your heads. Practice, “aye”, and one more loud one for all of your poor constituants you’re causing needless suffering to, “AYE”! Thank you!
Well Said!
Does this help the 99ers? Someone tell me please.
i don’t believe it does :(
tier 5 for one year! Wake up unemployed they are playing with you on delays!
no icomplete bill, does not include what was promised from the first HR4213-
COBRA Subsidy, 99ers and cant find teir 5 in it
It’s also not clear about back payments. Confused about retroactive pay. Will all those on EB also recieve retroactive pay?
These types of bills need to be for ALL Unemployed 26 weeks or 99 weeks who have exhausted their benefits. It does not make since to vote on a Bill unless it will provide unemployment benefits for ALL in a reccession with extemely high Unemployemnt rate and no jobs as the market is proving. Stop hiding the numbers, providing incorrect information at the ODJFS telling people to stop filing to make numbers look better. If the unemployed does not stand together then the few if a bill is past will endure the same as the people who exhausted their benefits with just deadlines will be in the same boat. !
It does not make any sense not to provide ALL (26 weeks or 99 weeks) unemployment benefits in a economic disaster such as we are now having. Todays numbers just proves 99er’s or 26 weeks can not find work to Live. So pass a long term recovery extention for 99er’s as well as 26 weeks unemployed for at least a year. If the economy is recovering you will see it. Do something right for the money, benefits, vacations your getting republicans and democratics

Add tier 5 to this. All unemployed needs help not just a few this does not touch the iceberg. All need at least a one year extention based on the job market and todays economic numbers. Stop the delays, blocking and political tactics people who lost their benefits are suffering.
Tier 5 is absolutely needed by ALL Unemployed. Stop the games on the deadlines when there are only a few this Bill will help. Remove the deadlines and incorporate new TIERS 5, 6 for at least one year for American Unemployed who are suffering. Your ODJFS need to be contacted on their practices of stopping the unemployed not to be able to file claims this is wrong it will not provide true unemployemnt rate numbers in this country. Do something right for a change you know there is job issue in this country if 99 weeeks can not find work and the 26, 43 weeks can not find work why are you penalizing the unemployed who completely exhausted thier claims . Get a Tier 5 , 6 BILL.
okay…technically this passed the house by voice vote, however the republicans want arecord of yeas and nays, so we will still have to wait until they actually record the results.
The challenge is in the Senate since it’s not “paid for”. With the death of Byrd and assuming that Nelson continues to be a douche, we will need 3 Republicans to support it. Figure that Snowe will vote for it so that leaves 2. Collins, Brown and Voinovich voted for it back in April (when this should have all been taken care of) but who knows now. Collins is probably the best bet but Brown and Voinovich have been flakey as Hell recently. It’s going to really suck if we only get two and the death of Byrd ends up sinking this thing. Truthfully, Democrats should have at least paid for some of it as a compromise to get it through. Right now it looks like it’s just going to be a repeat of last week and we will be a vote short.
If this doesn’t pass for whatever reason, the price will be paid in human suffering.
I fully agree. My self, husband, 5 adult children, 1 adult grandchild, 2 sisters, there children (and so on )will be at the polls this November to see if we can remedy this political slap in the fae.

and if your not a member at opencongress.com and your part of the unemployed.you need to sign up so you can write these senators. we all have a little part to do in this, even the employed because what happens to you when you lose your job there is no garantee that you will have your job tomorrow, just look at the numbers.so that means write these guys on the oppisition(republicans)side, and be level headed about it tell them you need diapers for your babys and food in there mouths they need to hear it.just keep the slander down so you can be heard.thank you god speed
I need this. we all need this. tell everyone and write! write! write!. its the only weapon we have anymore
Its up for vote now in the house..
By my count, it will need 289 votes to pass
right now, we have 12 yea and 5 nay… with 9 minutes on the clock
Failed to pass – all we could get would have been 144 Nays and it’s at 147 with 36 left to vote.
Failed – 261 Y / 155 N 17 No Votes
16 Democrats voted No and 30 Republicans voted yes
it did not pass…
the only thing missing from that was the powdered wigs!
