Requires each individual employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a vocational rehabilitation counselor to: (1) have completedOfficial Summary
9/28/2010--Passed House without amendment. (This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here.) Requires each individual employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a vocational rehabilitation counselor to:(1) have completed a masters degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling before such employment;
(2) obtain certification within five years after obtaining such employment; and
(3) maintain such certification as a condition of continued employment. Requires each individual employed as a vocational rehabilitation employment coordinator to:
(1) have completed a bachelors degree in the relevant field before such employment;
(2) obtain certification within five years after obtaining such employment; and
(3) maintain such certification as a condition of continued employment. Requires the Director of the VA's Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Service to develop a remediation plan for a counselor or coordinator who fails to meet any applicable condition and which the counselor or coordinator must complete in order to continue employment.
