HR 616 will allow pharmacies to continue to provide services to their patients. Pharmacists and pharmacies are already licensed and regulated in all 50 states which makes the accreditation requirements redundant.

Accreditation is costly to pharmacies and has resulted in pharmacies choosing not to complete the requirement. This choice will limit patient access to DMEPOS items and have an adverse affect on Medicare Patients.

The costly and duplicative requirements imposed by CMS will only hurt patient access to important medical supplies including diabetic supplies.

H.R.616 will allow Pharmacies and Phamacists to continue to be on the front line in patient care.

Certain accreditation requirements, including those in Medicare, that are unfunded need to be repealed by this amendment to the part B of title XVIII of the Social Security Act. If this don’t become law, more patients will suffer from unnecessary requirements from the CMS.
