this is an open ended mandate which this could mean the forced detention of American citizens in the event of widespread rioting after a national emergency or total economic collapse. This bill cannot be passed. Also the bill mandates that six separate facilities be established in different Federal Emergency Management Agency Regions (FEMA) throughout the country. In other words, i think concentration camps are going to be forming, well it’s already been in the works. The bill also contains language that will authorize camps to be established within closed or already operating military bases around the country. THIS IS UNBELIEVEABLE, PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    As of 2-23-09

Continuity of government ‘Classified" As of 2-23-09 the Congress can’t see plans for continuity of government. Now they what money to build camps…what the hell is this!

Rep. Peter DeFazio gives a speech on the house floor to fellow members discussing the fact that Bush Administration has denied the entire Dept of Homeland Security Committee access to the so called detailed plans that the White House has drafted to ensure the continuity of government in case of a major terrorist attack.

Why is the government creating a system of military style prisons under FEMA and Homeland Security in all states? Videos and location listings for hundreds of such FEMA and DHS facilities are readily viewable online. Are they anticipating imposition of martial law? Why is this being implemented without much wider scrutiny by the mainstream media. Why is there no open discussion or debate about these facilities or their intended use in our politic discourse. Why is there no mention of this legislation on the sponsor’s [Alcee Hastings]congressional website? If these facilities are designed to house disaster victims, why are they surrounded by fences designed to keep people in? Just another example of how transparency in government has been lost, and how through perceivably ominous steps, we are justified in the belief that government is incrementally dismantling rights of dissent in order to serve the interests of an elite and undemocratic agenda. This is not an appropriate response to deliver assistance to the populace in the event of any imaginable natural disaster, outbreak, or economic collapse. This IS, however, the manner in which totalitarian regimes in the Soviet Union, communist China and Nazi Germany have rounded up,sequestered, and exterminated their political enemies during periods of repression. This IS how the United States handled the “Japanese problem” domestically during WWII. This issue needs to be widely publicized and openly discussed within our society to determine truthfully why it is being implemented and by what set of logic it can be construed as serving the interests and rights of the citizenry.

I am not surprised to find such a bill as this in these days. One particular excerpt from the bill text that caught my attention was:

“(4) to meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security.”

What other “needs” might this entail? I am aware of the already-established FEMA camps across the US. This bill will simply do more to direct power to Homeland Security, as if FEMA will not receive enough power via Martial Law. Fortunately, these bills are not entirely classified and the public may educate themselves on these terms. Unfortunately, not enough people are aware of such camps. I surely hope this bill is forgotten entirely and never resurfaces.

I agree with you Logic. I feel that sentence, is the entire key to this bill.

I too found that particular piece a statement that necessarily negates the bill.

  • WilliamW 02/02/2009 12:44am

I have put my Senator (Senator Burr) on notice that should this bill pass and ever be implemented that many people will physically resist this.

Lets see hundreds of FEMA Death Camps already built, 500,000 plastic coffins in Georgia, and a Bill in the house to legitimize it all.

time to stock up on ammunition boys, our country is about to try to wipe us out.

If bills like this get passed, there going to need safe houses for the Dem in congress cause getting voted out of office will be the least of there worries.

  • Anonymous 02/06/2009 9:12am

They can build all the fema camps they want to. There are 300 million Americans, most of them armed and a handful of “them”. I don’t think they have the power to do ANY THING unless we give it to them.

WTF? I should have known this would be coming soon. Here we go people. TSHTF!!

  • Anonymous 02/12/2009 3:55pm

Very scary. Perhaps they will serve a dual purpose as DMORT facilities for handling mass fatalities.

  • kgotjesus2001 02/17/2009 4:48am

VERY SCARY!!!!!!! THEY TRY TO MAKE IT SOUND SO GREAT BUT THEY WANT YOUR PERMISSION TO IMPRISON YOU FOR NO REASON.

  • melzellers 03/22/2009 4:18pm

They know they can do anything they want right in front of our face b/c so many people just aren’t paying attention or just don’t care or can’t believe “they” would do something like this.

  • SallyVose4 03/23/2009 7:24am

Every day we are being inundated with more and more garbage from the current administration because they and congress know that the lamestream media WILL NOT cover it, the majority of main street does not feel they can absorb so much at once, main street is ridiculed as too ignorant to understand what the “elete-college-prepared” left feel is “best for us”. I can only hope that our government representatives will get soooo many calls and E-mails from their constituents that they will finally “get the message”. Whow, where is their (left-wing) stupidity going to end? When will main street wake up and look at both sides before giving the liberal left any more power?

I feel that the only way the liberal congress and administration can push through their socialist/marxist agenda is if we (main street) stop paying attention. We MUST stay focused and keep hounding them!

  • Mrs_B 03/25/2009 10:59am

Combine this with all the weird legislation lately and we get the picture, Congress. We are one hairs-breadth away from tyranny and we have you to thank.

America is run by international bankers who listen to NO ONE & control Congress. Soon they will control infrastructure, utilities, corporations, food supply, health records, everything.

The only thing which has held them off is the Second Amendment. Note the immense push to weaken / eliminate it. Once they accomplish that, oh my hang on.

FEMA camps create conditions that are most dangerous to life, health, personal safety. Well-armed, well-prepared naturally-scattered public is safer.

Add a well-timed emergency (pandemic, false-flag attack) and we are in deep trouble. This is the plan if people push back against the Congress-aided thievery.

Unfortunately the large majority will accept imprisonment for a little safety and a hot meal just like in every totalitarian regime down through history.

  • JonSchaffer57 04/06/2009 12:07am

So tomorrow, our good friend at Fox News, Glenn Beck, is going to do a thing on FEMA Camps. I’m interested to see what he says…

Hastings was previously a federal judge, impeached and removed from office on 1989 for corruption and perjury.
The people of his district must be very stupid indeed. Anyone who does crimes like this should never be able to hold public office.
I wonder how much money he got for sponsoring this bill ? Most politicians probably have money transferred to an off-shore bank account if they go along with certain bills and policies. Money coming from lobbyists, corporations and ultra-elites. Really why else would you spend millions of dollars for a job that pays 100,000 a year.

  • roorior 07/09/2009 9:55am

This is just another takeoff on H.R. 4079. I don’t want my liberties taken away. Big NO for this one.

  • mjbanks 07/16/2009 4:20pm

this bill is ok, only as it is written.

if we have trouble and flee to a base, they wont accomodate civilians of an athletic stature if there are no available quarters.

  • tbgallien 11/04/2009 10:10am

Poster child of corruption and racism in government and society.

  • Illuminati_Hater 12/20/2009 1:41pm

With the way things are right now, I can see why Americans need to fear this bill even more. I’ve quite a few articles detailing Mr. Obama’s meetings with the military. He’s even talking about expanding Northcom.

It seems this government wants the public to start riots. They want an excuse to use these camps. I’ve seen enough videos, and listened to enough individuals to know that these places are real.
  • watcher77 03/19/2010 4:35pm

There are over 800 FEMA camps in the USA already (836, at last count I recall).
Look it up yourself. Lookup FEMA camps, REX84 project, FEMA coffins. Check on YouTube for FEMA coffins, videos of tons of them.

Martial Law is coming soon. This proposed bill is part of that Agenda.

    Wake Up Sheeple!!

  • allyReport101 03/22/2010 2:18am

america, your limp, half hearted attempt at defending liberties sickens me. This, the greatest country in the history of mankind is now to be sold for scrap. What we have is a criminal government ruling over the mass american populous that seem to suffer from a delusional egoism combined with staggeringly retarded mathematic skills.

ok if we the people allow this travesty to pass then there are 3 things we need to do.
1; iron and starch our black uniforms.
2; spit shine our jack boots
3; polish and make sure our lightning bolt SS pins are in place…
this is the exact same thing as what Hitler did in 1935 when he opened Dachau. make no mistake these “detention centers” are concentration camps…historical note. Dachau the first Nazi concentration camp was originally called a detention center for relocated persons, also Adolf Hitler was twice awarded time life’s person of the year award….

  • NHWynter 11/30/2010 11:13am

This bill is stuck in subcommittee. It’s been there for over a year. While I did see Jesse Ventura’s “Conspiracy Theory” about this bill, I can also say that the “Residential Center” he showed was an ICE facility where illegal immigrants are housed prior to being deported. If you do a search on CCA (Correctional Centers of America) you’ll find that they are contracted to the government, to the DoHS and ICE specifically, and charged with the handling of Illegal Immigrants who are awaiting trial and deportation hearings.

That being said, those sorts of facilities could EASILY be changed to house people who are “trouble makers”.

  • toray99 12/29/2010 4:22am

These are already built and it breaks up the USA into 10 areas. Look to executive order council of governors that obama signed in january 2010.
Will be composed of ten State Governors who will be selected by the President to serve two year terms. In selecting the Governors to the Council, the White House will solicit input from Governors and Governors’ associations. Once chosen, the Council will have no more than five members from the same party and represent the Nation as a whole.
This whole thing is already done, they are waiting for US to revolt !
The fema camps are already all around us.

  • toray99 12/29/2010 5:16am

The government keeps taking our freedom away, disguised as protecting us.
I personally would rather have my freedom and take my chances with so-called terrorists. I think most people of the US really know whom are enemies are. Most of the enemies are in the washington dc area.
