Disinformation Fog Intensifies As Economic Turmoil Develops
I thought the economic situation was confusing two years ago. I never dreamed the pretzel could become so twisted so fast. The reason it is vital to stay on top of the fog and misdirection should be evident; deception in the economy can be used to steer the public and our country towards terrible ends. While many of us might become exhausted with the constant reminders of the dark road ahead, we cannot take for granted that the battle for the truth is far from over. We have made great headway over the years, far more than I dared imagine possible, but this is a beginning, one that must be cradled carefully, like the embers of the first fire.

I will continue to push for the HR6556 Bill. Thank you again for all the friendships. Sad looking back and giving 40 + years to the work force to be heading to homeless soon. Maybe all meet some of you on the street and share
a left over sandwich or a cup of coffee slightly warm. Who knows, what will be in the future of our American way of life. Keep the fight going is the only hope I have left.
Never give up, and never forget that there are millions more in the same boat with us.
I am so damn sick and tired of listening to the Republicans spewing all their “job killing” BS about the health care bill, and wasting lots of time and money trying to repeal it when they know it is impossible to do so. So far I have seen nothing from them to actually try to help the tens of millions of unemployed in any way. They got their big tax breaks for the rich, that they insisted would create jobs even though they did not for ten years, and now tie up congress just to put on a show, while lying through their teeth about the reason.
I am no fan of being forced to buy health care, but that will not even take affect until 2014. That is a lifetime away for the 99ers.
Neither party seems to be concerned in the least about the very real disaster unfolding of millions and millions of Americans being left with no way to support themselves, and ending up homeless on the streets.

99ers update: Are 99ers a population at risk of depression, suicide and death?
99er’s are two weeks into 2011, with still no promise of any type of help by way of an 99ers unemployment extension any time soon. Today a sad article appears talking about what the 99ers fear most now, that is death, according to Rant Rave.
It appears that a 99er wrote this article and talks about all the fears the 99ers use to have, which have all been realized and now history. They have nothing more to fear but death at this point in time, according to Rant Rave. From Connecticut to California, what the 99er’s have endured due to a loss of income, will never show up in statistics, they are a population that has basically been forgotten.

If you type “99er” into any search engine this comes up at the top of the list.
All 99ers should start leaving comments there.

“In the week ending Jan. 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 404,000, a decrease of 37,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 441,000. The 4-week moving average was 411,750, a decrease of 4,000 from the previous week’s revised average of 415,750.”
Yeah, ok. Still got that “4” handle. And unadjusted number was 550,594, which is still very high. Note that next week will be “way off” due to the MLK holiday, and I have no idea if Friday in front of it impacted anything. We’ll see.
Incidentally, when was the last time you saw an “unadjusted” number that was less than the seasonal adjustment? I seem to have trouble remembering that…….hmmm….
The bottom-line table shows a monstrous increase in the new 26-week entrants, which is exactly what you’d expect given last week’s numbers – and the first week’s.

99ers and the Rising Homeless Epidemic: Tier V Needed Now!
My parents, once valuable contributing members of the Middle Class core, began their court ordered eviction process December 7, 2010. They are hard working, tax paying, church attending Americans who vote every election and believe in America and her values. They also volunteer to help in homeless organizations throughout the community and do whatever they can to help their fellow humans who are in distress… who knew they would now need the help they so charitably give and share with others. It’s ironic that their December 7th court proceedings began on the D-Day anniversary for the bombing of Pearl Harbor. My parents were brought up to believe that with hard work and perseverance anyone can achieve the American dream. This statement has become a non-existent fable over the last two decades, and has lost all meaning and potency.

Poll: Voters Want Congress to Focus on Jobs Before Health Care
While Republicans’ first act after taking over the House was to vote on repealing the health care reform law, a new poll suggests the public would rather lawmakers focus on jobs.
A CBS News/New York Times survey out Thursday found 43 percent of Americans believe the most important thing for the new Congress to deal with is job creation — compared to just 18 percent who say the top priority should be health care.
Fourteen percent said the massive federal budget deficit should be foremost on the minds of lawmakers.
