Get Ready For A Year Of Volatility: More Flash Crashes, Fed Hating, Civil Unrest And Bad Weather

Oh boy is 2011 going to be an exciting year! Some things that I think might happen:

-Unemployment will not go down. The average for the year will be above 10%. The number of workers who leave the system will rise to 20mm. These workers will find part-time jobs that pay cash. The new day-workers will compete will illegals for employment. Social tensions will be the result.

-Social unrest will become visible in America in 2011. There will be demonstrations in many major cities. Some will turn violent. Economics will be at the heart of the anger. The frustration that was evident in France in recent years will come to the US.

    Scary New Wage Data

Every 34th wage earner in America in 2008 went all of 2009 without earning a single dollar, new data from the Social Security Administration show. Total wages, median wages, and average wages all declined, but at the very top, salaries grew more than fivefold.

Not a single news organization reported this data when it was released October 15, searches of Google and the Nexis databases show. Nor did any blog

The number of Americans with any wages in 2009 fell by more than 4.5 million compared with the previous year. Because the population grew by about 1 percent, the number of idle hands and minds grew by 6 million.

Michael Colliss – “Keeping a unified message and staying “on message” is absolutely essential in what will be an uphill battle in the effort to get an expansion of unemployment benefits. The issue is critical and it will be a struggle to get these common-sense measures adopted by Congress.”

    That

Does AZ have a jobs bank online? Is this job posted on the jobs bank? Michigan has a website called MichWorks! where you can post your resume and then send it if the job is posted on their site. Also Careerbuild or Monster and others that have ways to create resumes on line.

Maybe you can create a resume on line somewhere and then cut and paste to an email from there.

New Haven – Upset the federal government recently extended tax cuts for the rich, three professors at Yale and Cornell universities have created a website that encourages wealthy Americans to give their tax savings to charities and send a political message in the process.

The professors started giveitbackforjobs.org to allow Americans “who have the means” to calculate what their tax cut would be and donate that amount to a charity.

“Extending the tax cuts for the very wealthiest Americans is frankly unconscionable,” Yale Law School professor Daniel Markovits said Wednesday. With the website’s help, “donors can pledge their money to support the kinds of programs that will help families, create jobs, and set the country moving toward a just prosperity,” the professors said in announcing the initiative.

Markovits, Yale political scientist Jacob Hacker, and Cornell law professor Robert Hockett started the campaign. Hacker is co-author of “Winner Take All Politics: How Washington Made the Rich Richer – and Turned Its Back on the Middle Class.”

Hiding A Depression: How The US Government Does It

The real US unemployment rate is not 9.8% but between 25% and 30%. That is a depression level of job losses – so why doesn’t it look like a depression for many people? How can so large of a statistical discrepancy exist, and how is it that holiday shopping malls are so crowded in a depression?

The true devastation is hidden by essentially placing the job losses inside three different “boxes”: the official unemployment box, the true full unemployment box, and most importantly, the staggering and persistent private sector job loss box that has been temporarily covered over by a fantastic level of governmental deficit spending. The “recovering and out of the recession” cover story is only plausible when nobody connects the dots and adds all the boxes together.

We will add together the three boxes herein – using US government statistics for all three – and convincingly show that the US economy is in far worse condition than what is presented by the government or by the mainstream media. No, we have not emerged from “recession” and there will be no “double dip” – because the first “dip” was straight down to a depression-level economy in 2008/2009, and we haven’t come back up.

When Unemployment Benefits Run Out – Homeless In A Tent City

The recession has served to increase these numbers so dramatically that the National Coalition for the Homeless did a study on the tent cities that are once again starting to spring up everywhere.
    Why Are They There
Their findings showed that most of the residents of these tent cities are there either due to unemployment, their unemployment benefits ran out, or eviction due to foreclosure. And with the national unemployment rate at near 10%, these cities may experience a jump in their populations over the next year. Americans are experiencing a significant growth in poverty and double digit increases in their newly homeless. Tent cities can now be found across the United States, ranging from large organized communities to makeshift encampments.

With an endless supply of cartoons striving to fill a niche of information lack created by the silent but deadly combination of attention deficit disorder and a fear and loathing of anything math related, below we present the latest animated explanation of how the recent transition of the American Dream (purchased entirely on credit), was virtually guaranteed to become an American Nightmare… and how this is nothing new in the grand scheme of things.
