Most cities made little progress on the jobs front in the twelve months ended November 2010, according to new data from the Labor Department.

Unemployment rates were higher or unchanged in November than a year earlier in 206 metropolitan areas, and lower in 166 areas, the Labor Department said. The jobless rate declined in just 18 of the 49 most populous metro areas.

Sorry to let you know that technically this bill is dead as it was introduced in the 111’TH Congress which no longer exists come Wednesday when the 112"TH Congress starts – bills cannot carry over.

Read the article about Scott and Lee that I posted a link to at 11:04 am regarding efforts to get the bill re-introduced into the House in the 112’TH Congress.

The democrats still have the power to give is a tier 5 anytime they want, and it looks like now it is going to be even easier for them.

We just need someone to introduce legislation and fight for us. If the dems will attach the language of this legislation with offsets to the defense spending bill or budget it would be guaranteed to pass.

I love how the United States officials ignore those who really need help. The 99ers are being ignored. We need help! I can not afford to even pay my cell phone bill. I have worked in Healthcare for years, and still attend night school for Medical Billing, and I will have to drop out, if I can’t afford them. Thanks Obama, I voted for you, and in return, you failed me…!

We’ll let me introduce myself – I’m a 99er in Michigan. First there was Stabenow, now Lee with bills that are supposed to help us. How long has this been going on – well for a while now. I really dont think they(congress) are going to take any more steps towards helping us. You see the fight is diminishing, less people are talking about this, and that is exactly what they want. Introduce, then do nothing. Three used to be alot of people on You Tube stating their case, now its all old posts. They want us to give up!!

Labor Force Participation Rate Drops To Fresh 25 Year Low, Adjusted Unemployment Rate At 11.7%

While today’s unemployment number came at a low 9.4%, well below expectations, the one and only reason for this is that the labor force in America has plunged to a fresh 25 year low. Assuming a reversion to the mean in the long-term average participation rate back to 66%, means that the civilian labor force, which in December came at 153,690, a drop of 260,000 from November, is in reality 157.6 million, a delta of 3.91 million currently unaccounted for. Maybe someone can ask Bernanke during his imminent presentation before Congress what happened to the unemployed population, which would have been 18.4 million if this labor force delta was incorporated, resulting in an unemployment rate of 11.7%.

NSA Underemployment (U-6) Jumps To 16.6%, Highest Since July, And Deteriorating Consistently Since Start Of QE2

The non-seasonally adjusted underemployment rate (U-6), probably the one metric that has the least possible amount of Department of Turh intervention, has come at 16.6%, a jump from 16.3% in November, and the highest since July 2010. It is also the third consecutive month of deterioration, roughly since QE2 started. There goes your economic recovery. But at least quantitative easing is boosting the wealth effect of all those employed (on Wall Street) and adding to the poverty effect of everyone else. In the meantime, can someone please switch the ABC confidence index with the ADP bullshit indicator in terms of data significance?

    Employment Situation Report: December

    The survey says!

“The unemployment rate fell by 0.4 percentage point to 9.4 percent in December, and nonfarm payroll employment increased by 103,000,”

Careful with any sort of bullish interpretation of this. Here’s the problem:

“The number of unemployed persons decreased by 556,000 to 14.5 million in December, and the unemployment rate dropped to 9.4 percent.”

This is trouble. On a monthly basis this has been positive since early in the spring of 2010. That’s where the employed number decrease has come from – remember, the government doesn’t count those who give up as “unemployed.” On an annualized basis this number has flatlined at a small positive level since January of 2010. You cannot recover in the economy from an employment perspective until those who have given up come back into the labor force. Period.

    Hey That

Jessie Jackson Jr. says, “What we’re talking about is putting a human face on a very human problem,” OK, thanks for the free PR, but what’s with the other line in the article just above this quote that says “He added that the effort isn’t a comment on any specific policy or proposal to create jobs.” – a swing and a miss, strike three, you’re out!

I assume you are like me and just wind up getting pissed when people in a position to do SOMETHING about this problem do NOTHING except pay lip service to it. If this was anything more than an attempt to get his name in the paper, he’d be taking about the bill that he is presenting to committee and the vast number of co-sponsors that he has signed up to support it or at a minimum who’s bill he is co-sponsoring!

Makes me wish I lived in Mr. Jackson’s district so I could visit him in his office and put a real human face on this real human problem!

Funny thing in politics land out here in AZ, we had some county supervisors who were annoying the electorate, and one showed up at a meeting with a pitchfork in a sling over his shoulder, Well they took offense and had him arrested which is still playing out in court, Then they decided to spend well over 1 million on security just because of this indecent. My opinion is if you dont want to worry about security then dont piss the people off!
